Re: playing software instruments
...i can confirm that playing software instruments while a clip is playing in the same track works as expected in session record mode BUT not when arrangement record is enabled...then you only hear the instrument when overdub is enabled (= midi is being recorded)...just tested it with keyboard and/...

Re: playing software instruments

Sure there is, I do this all the time. Arm the track for recording, but just hit the Play button instead of Record. The clip plays and the notes you play on your controller (any controller) sound as well without being recorded.
Or maybe I'm not understanding the question?

Re: Making Music - the book
As fast as the first batch sold out, I assume (hope) they're scrambling to get another print run ready to go. This is the kind of book I want a physical copy of. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.

Re: Loop Question
Perhaps you're thinking of the "Create Fades on Clip Edges" setting? It's in Preferences on the Record/Warp/Launch tab, last item in the Warp/Fades section. (This is all in Live 9. I assume it's similar in Live 8.)A_J_W wrote: The audioclip has a slight fade-in that I want to get rid of.

Re: OSCiLLOT
The biggest let down for me about oscillot for me is the complete lack of automation You can only have 8 macro controls total. Also the step sequencer steps cannot be automated at all, but even if they could once you use up the 8 steps it's all over. Very disappointed :-( I can't tell if you're mak...

Re: OSCiLLOT
Looks like a new version of Oscillot has been released. The download file name was OSCiLLOTbyMaxforCats_ r37473 _v1.0 but today I noticed it's OSCiLLOTbyMaxforCats_ r37537 _v1.0. And indeed, when I downloaded and installed it, the version number shows 1.01 (was 1.0). Two of the three bugs I mentione...

Re: OSCiLLOT
Bump! Any word on bugginess and CPU usage? How does it sound? Bugginess: There are some. I've been using it pretty heavily since the day it was released and I've found 3 so far: - The trigger output on "NoteSeq" is incorrect. (Instead of brief impulses on each note, it's a square wave that changes ...

Re: Axiom Pro 49 (White version) - changing Drum Rack pad locati
Yes, it's possible. Unfortunately, you can only change the notes the pads send with HyperControl in "transport" mode, meaning you give up all the nice automatic mapping that HyperControl usually does. Re: Strange problem
This is kind of a long shot, but do you happen to have Sticky Keys turned on in OS X? (System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard). When Sticky Keys is turned on, hitting a modifier key (shift, control, command, option) more than once makes it "stick" on. It's intended to enable people who can...

Re: Nice comfortable headphone for listening
I've been using a pair of the DT-990 PROs for production and general listening for a few months now and really like them. The mid-range frequencies seem slightly under emphasized, but maybe that's just because of the better low and high end response compared to my other crap cans. Note that they hav...

Re: Synthesizer Training App
I've been tinkering with synths for years, so I really hesitated buying Syntorial. The price was the primary sticking point. After working through the demo, I finally broke down and bought it and have been working through it for about a week now. Even though I already know what all the controls on t...

A Look Inside Ableton Push
Ever wonder what's inside Ableton's Push controller? Here's a video of a guy taking one apart. There's more inside than I expected. Language is Czech, which I don't speak, so I don't know what he's saying about it.
