Sound Proofing for voice-over work

Hi all, I'm writing on behalf of a friend of mine who is having a hard time getting an answer to his question anywhere else. He does radio and other voice-over work professionally and has a side business as well. He's trying to build a studio booth that will allow him to expand his side business. He...

Re: Movement

Well, if I see someone out front with a push I'll guess it's you!

Psyched for squarepusher! And so, so much more!

Movement

Anybody else here headed to Detroit for the Movement festival this weekend? Should be awesome. And inspiring... I'm looking forward to coming back with a renewed vigor for working on music... been kind of lagging since Springtime hit.

Cheers

Re: ? Tip Of The Month ?

Thanks for the tip!

Is this only in Live 9, or is it available in 8 as well?

Cheers,

Re: session view midi track preview?

I don't think so, no, not without using the monitor button on the track. I'm fairly certain it has always been this way.

Re: How Many of You Wish You Had a Place to Get Away to 4 Music?

morning time for making music is so essential. evenings are fine for toying around, playing with sounds, learning the textures. but for being creative old mista braino needs to be firing on all cylinders. John Coetzee wrote his nobel prize winning novels while carrying a heavy teaching load at UCT ...

Re: How Many of You Wish You Had a Place to Get Away to 4 Music?

Yeah it's quite a big deal for me. I live with my fiance and her 11 year old son, in a too small apartment with thin walls and fortunately very easy going neighbors. Still, my headphones are my friend. My fiance is getting her MFA in creative writing and we both have full time day jobs and after wor...

Movement (DEMF)

Hi all. Forgive me if this should be in another forum, just curious if anyone here is planning on attending Movement in Detroit May 25-27. I bought my pass a couple weeks back and I'm really excited about it. It'd be cool to meet up with some other Ableton users out there.

Cheers,

Chris

Re: Live 8 to Live 9 or Suite 9 upgrade prices

Thanks H20nly. That's actually not so bad. I'll take the $50 hit to purchase it at a time that makes more sense. Hopefully by summer :)

Re: Live 8 to Live 9 or Suite 9 upgrade prices

Man -- bummer the upgrade sale is so short. Not in a position to do the upgrade (saving up for my trip to DEMF in May! Woot!). I wonder what the upgrade pricing will be Live 8 Suite >> Live 9 Suite after the sale...

Re: good non-wireless mouse for mac

Congrats on your purchase... I was gonna say though, go with a trackball of some kind. See trackball thread... Anyway, hope it serves you well.

Re: trackballs

Last thing I promise :)

I noticed in your example video funken, that you were using Live 9. I tried this with Live 8 Suite. Don't know if it's different, and only have 9 beta on my PC. Which, now that I think of it, s kind of dumb. But it is what it is. Just FYI.

Re: trackballs

One more thing -- while I may be stating the obvious -- the great thing about the trackball when grabbing the time bar and scrolling horizontally in the MIDI editor that way, is that the trackball is endless while staying (physically) in one place. I find this method works just fine, and if I do los...

Re: trackballs

Okay, so what I have here: Using a Logitech M570 and iMac, The scroll wheel works just fine for vertical scrolling in the MIDI editor. But I have not been able to make a horizontal scroll work using the ball UNLESS I use alt+command. At which point it's click and drag. I ususally just grab on the MI...

Re: trackballs

cpyatak - are you using a Mac or a PC? i plan on testing this for funken but last night was too busy for tinkering... if you're on a Mac you may already have the answers he's looking for... I just got an iMac, and I use the Logitech 570 with it and it works great. I only used the older logitech tra...
