Re: Found my perfect companion to Push for DJ mixing

While the Launchpad XL has more controls I really wanted something close to a DJ Mixer style. The XL lacks also lacks a physical crossfader. Having more buttons and knobs can be great but I also know from experience in other areas of work I do that sometimes less is more!

Thanks anyway!

Found my perfect companion to Push for DJ mixing

I've been using Push for a little over a year now and Ableton for about the same time. I love what both Push and Ableton are capable of but I found it to be lacking when it comes to doing live DJ/mixing. I dabbled in DJ'ing some years ago and hoped to get back into for fun. As much as I love the ide...

Re: Audio Interface Cue Puzzle

This user just asked essentially the same thing about click tracks in this thread https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=210069. See my longer reply there. You can do it but I didn't have a lot of luck trying to set it up. You can use either Asio4all or JackAudio.org to use multiple sound car...

Re: Using Ableton for live worship

I've been through exactly what you're going through about a year and a half ago trying to do the same thing for my live worship setup! The only way to get a click track with your current setup is to put the click on your left output and then your other tracks on the right output. This is the most id...

Re: Tutorials: what's better, AskVideo, Groove3, Lynda.com... ?

AskVideo and MacProVideo are the same company and typically have the exact same videos on both sites so take your pick. I have watched most of the Ableton Live videos on AskVideo and they're pretty good. They're typically anywhere from 10 to 25 videos in a course and most of the videos are 5-10 minu...

Re: Windows 8?

if you're expecting the same feeling from 8... stop now. you will accept it, at best. I agree 100% No, I wish it were more of a black and white scenario... :D I know bloody well that once I had tried Windows 7, there was no way I could go back to XP. Heres a major issue im having with windows 8, it...

Re: Windows 8?

Windows 8 is not the devil that everyone makes it out to be. I've found from a performance standpoint Windows 8 runs rings around Windows 7! I've got a work laptop with an i7 that runs a hybrid SSD and my personal laptop with an i7 that used to have a hybrid SSD (which I'm now using as a data drive)...

Re: Soloing indivdual chains within a rack

Actually you can mute devices within Racks directly from Push. No need to setup a template unless you want. For example: Create an instrument rack Insert 3 Operators or other devices in the instrument Rack. Press the In Key on Push Your 3 devices should show up at the bottom left of the display. Pre...

Re: Reason 8 announced

I've been a long time Reason user and while on the surface it may seem like a minor update, some of the new changes have been long requested by the users like faster patch browsing. This will certainly be a welcomed changed! One thing I can say is that Props will typically only give you a few nugget...
