Ensure you do the OS update for it (done via a SysEx dump) straight away.

It is necessary to activate VST plugins before they are accessible on MacOSX. The default installation of Live 4.0.3 does not make them automatically available. On the PC this isn't always necessary (particularly if you've previous had Cubase or another VST capable host application installed - an en...

Incidentally, when Live4 was reviewed in Sound on Sound magazine (it made the cover - yay!) the reviewer mistakenly stated that it LACKED solo in place ... How could the reviewer miss it while browsing the menus while doing a thorough review ? Weird ... whatever ! ... at least it does exist ! jASeFOs

Perhaps this should be posted as a feature suggestion. For owners of VSTi's such as Groove Agent (whose usefulness is increased many times through this function) this would be a welcome addition. At current for duties where I need to record Groove Agent's MIDI output it is necessary to interrupt my ...

Yep, more control works here Absolutely ... a "units" drop down selector immediately adjacent to the value for the LFO would be good ! perhaps going a few steps further making the following options available: 1) frequency in note value (e.g. C4, A5) 2) frequency in Hz 3) frequency as function of sy...

Dearest Ableton Team .... Now that you're making a MIDI sequencer (and I must say one of the most refreshing, writer's-block-breaking pieces of software to date), it's important to at least understand the competition (Emagic, Steinberg, DP) has been giving this sort of flexibility to its users for m...

Cheers Dirty Studios ....
thanks for your reply.

For any others reading here's the path to the metronome:
Program Files\Ableton\Live 3.0.1\Resources\Misc

If only Cubase's metronome was as simple to replace!
(I just use a MIDI metronome feeding a sampler instead!)

Cheers !

How to adjust metronome volume level and output bus ?

Howdy folks,

Just wandering if there is any way to adjust the metronome's volume level ?

Is it possible to route the metronome, for instance, to the PFL bus ?

How does MIDI playing of clips with transpose work ?

One of the new features advertised for the Live 3.0 upgrade was the ability to playback MIDI clips with transposition with respect t o the MIDI note number played. I cannot find anything in the documentation that mentions how this may be accomplished. Can anyone point me to any online articles that ...
