i suggest that you try in ear monitors. otherwise the mic picks up the music bleeding through behind you and the loops get real muddy real quick.

plus you can hear yourself better through a decent set of in ear monitors than most any stage monitors.

mark me down as pretty dissatisfied with the 1814. stability wise i've had a few situations where i had no choice but to reboot the pc. occasional odd noises, occasional hiss. not too much instability to deal with, but not reliable enough to give me the comfort level i need from this key piece of ge...

i don't think that there is a thread on this. using key mapping (ctrl-k) marc assigns a key to each track (click on the track header, then hit the appropriate key). he uses semi-diagonal columns - so - for instance column one (under the "1" - q,a,z keys) will control/effect track one. the "z" brings...

live looping with live and a 6 piece acid jazz combo - video

1st off, thanks to marc osborn and montrealbreaks. their tips have significantly improved my live setup, especially marc's trick of assigning keys to corresponding tracks (z-1, x-2, c-3...Z-9, X-10, C-11...). my brain doesn't hurt anymore. we commandeered a killer video studio last night and looped ...

i am having this same problem. i have an m-audio 1814. it has four outs. 1&2 are the main stereo mix. 3 i'm using for cue, and 4 for and efx loop. anytime i cue a channel i hear it, but over 1&2, not 3. 3 is selected as the cue output. i've been through the m-audio controller and the problem doesn't...

Good Luck
thanks, i'll post the results of our jam here.

what audio interface were you using? and do you remember what the latency was in msec?

i've got an m-audio 1814 and i'm hoping to use live's efx exclusively.

using live for live sound direct to PA

i know that someone posted that they were using live to replace the mixer/efx commonly used in a pa system. i can't find that original post anywhere. so, anyone, any tips? i'm gonna try it friday night. m-audio firewire 1814 into a bose personal amplification system. 2 vocalists, drums/percussion, a...

[quote="Machinate"]kim, the problem is that you "perfect" two-bar loop isn't two bars long with the tempo given in Live - it's maybe 7/8ths of a two bar loop - i/quote] i understand this, yet i still can't quite comprehend why the first loop is playing properly. either live is stretching it to the c...

Could you tell me the reason not to go quantized the first time around, and then switching to quantised? the way i used to do this with the lexicon jamman was seamless and quite usable for live performance. the band would get the groove going, no need to worry about bpm/quantizing, just tap the ped...

It's the only thing keeping Live from being the ultimate looping tool.

This is when you route it in Live4? -Ben yeah, this is in live 4. it might be because the efx are stereo. maybe i have to put a utility/mono at the end of the chain.... i haven't been focussing on it cause the workaround is dealable. what i'd really like is a reliable way to delete the most recent ...
