Windows 8 DPC latency

Hi I came across this quite intriguing thread : http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2250925 But I heard some folk from µsoft saying that the dpc latency checker on 8 was giving flawed results and that real latency was, in fact, lower than in 7. SO, I wanted to know if someone ran real tests...

Re: Comportment of the "Normalize" when exporting function ?

Well, just gave it a shot with a single operator too (finally had the time ^^'), so finally it looks like Live's normalize function can decrease the gain too :) I put a default operator on a track, rendered, then put a +35db gain on the master, re-rendered, then put two another +35 db on the master ...

Re: Comportment of the "Normalize" when exporting function ?

One may not be a native english speaker ^^' I'm french but I have been reading some fantasy books in english... Hence the idiomatic oddities maybe ^^' ps: and I happen to have very bad practices regarding to automation and the volume parts of the tracks :/ But sometimes in the creative process, putt...

Re: Comportment of the "Normalize" when exporting function ?

Okay that's what I wanted to know... I then have to painstakingly go through my whole song and down the volume up to the point there is no clipping anymore :(
thanks !

Re: Comportment of the "Normalize" when exporting function ?

Well, the song I'm working on is quite dense and the render takes at least 25 minutes :(

Comportment of the "Normalize" when exporting function ?

Hi :)
I just wanted to know: if my song happens to saturate @ the master buss, will using the normalize option during export drop the volume so that it doesn't saturate in my final wave file? Or does it only add gain if there is not enough?

Thanks :)

Re: 64 bit64 bit support - in current version or onlu in Live9 ?

On studio one I once happened to have a 13gb on ram project.
With 16 gb, and roughly 1gb taken by windows and 500 / 600 mb by other things, it started to approach the limits.
32 gb is not overkill, especially considering the low ram prices these days!

Re: Ableton! Will Live 9 be released before year 2015?

Using studio one, I DEFINITELY had an HUGE workflow improvement by using three monitors instead of one, one for the mixer, one for the tracks and one for plugins and note editing. Now back on a single monitor (good things won't last) I always find me move things over, under, to the left, to the righ...

Does Live still save settings when VSTs are missing ?

If I have a set with a missing VST, that I save this set, install the VST and reopen it, will the settings of my VST be alright ?

Thanks!

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta 'soon'...

I personally think religion is good as long as it doesn't directly contradicts with science - and argue it's view is THE view.

But maybe one day science will explain why the human has such a need for religion ^___^
