Re: Disable scanning VST plugin folder on startup

I have around 60 plugins in my vst plugin folder and I *want* to use them.
But I dont want Live to scan these plugins every time I start live.
Scanning them takes 1-2 minutes... not funny as Live 8.2.1 crashes regularly on my PC.
One plugin that takes a lot of time to scan is "Waldorf Largo".

Disable scanning VST plugin folder on startup

Hi there Is there a way to disable scanning the VST folder on startup? It takes around 1 minute to start Live because every time it scans my VST folder. I have my own VST plugin folder c:\VST which looks like this: -Compressor -EQ -Filter -Delay -Reverb -Other -Synth In these directories I have only...

SSD recommendation

Hi there

I am looking for a SSD with 120 GByte for my Macbook Pro 15" (Early 2010).
Any recommendations?

Do I need any additional pieces to replace my current 250 GB 5.400 HDD with a SSD?

Slim Phatty as ext. instrument - where is my MIDI? [solved]

SOLVED: I have to choose "MIDI Ctrl" instead of "Ext. Instrument". Hi there I have connected my moog slim phatty via USB and created a MIDI track in ableton. On the MIDI track I inserted ableton live's "External Instrument". I create a MIDI clip with some notes and everything works fine. The slim p...

Re: How to save Stylus RMX settings in an Ableton Live project?

I use 1.92. I wanted to check for updates yesterday but I could not login so I contacted the Spectrasonics Support.

I reloaded some projects after I have saved the Styles RMX presets and in some projects, it could recall the settings.
I am in Windows XP SP3 and Live 8.2.1 if this is important...

Re: How to save Stylus RMX settings in an Ableton Live project?

NI? Stylus is by Spectrasonics... ;-)

I found a quick workaround:
I just save the current Stylus RMX preset (little disk icon in the Stylus device window in the bottom bar).

How to save Stylus RMX settings in an Ableton Live project?

Hi there

Is there any way to save the settings of Stylus RMX to the current ableton live project?
Everytime I re-open my project, all changes from the Stylus RMX are gone.
All my other VST synths recall their settings without any problems (as I expected it for Stylus, too).

Thanks in advance

Waves C4 Multband compressor. I use if for years to build my bassdrums from standard bassdrum samples.

Ah, you're right... so I render the single tracks to be able to combine them as I like...

Re: Moving from studio to live - How to work with return tracks?

In my studio project I have 8 SENDS and I use the sends on almost every channel.
What about sending all SENDS to a single audiotrack and export that as lets say "SENDS" to use it in the session view during your live show?

Pitch Black wrote:^^Wot he said. Make sure you have "Solo in Place" checked in the Options menu so that you hear the Returns when solo'ing.
Thanks for the tip that I could not remember because I read the live 8 1 year ago... ;-)

In my studio projects I have only UAD-2 effects on the return tracks which I cannot use on my macbook.

Logic like mixer w/ dual monitor support

I have searched the forum and haven't found this request. I am very impressed by the Logic 9 mixer ... it would be so cool to have similiar mixer for ableton with dual monitor support so you can have the mixer on a second screen while working in both the session and arrangement view on the first scr...
