Moving from studio to live - How to work with return tracks?

Hi there Following Tom Cosm's nice tutorial " Moving from the studio to live performance " I am wondering how you deal with return tracks when rendering the audio parts to have short audio clips to perform on stage? Let's say I want to export a synth part in ableton which uses 4 return tracks (rever...

I have 8.1.4 running for a few days on a desktop PC with i920 CPU, 3 GB of RAM, windows XP SP and Live still crashea randomly in the arrengement view as it happened very often in 8.1.3. The CPU usage is at 50%-60%. I have a bunch of plugins on the audio and midi tracks plus the return tracks and I a...

How to copy MIDI assigments from one set to another?

Hi there Is there a way to copy the MIDI assignments from one Live set to another Live set? I have mapped 64 knobs of my MIDI controller to parameters of my live set. I would like to transfer these mappings to another live set that has identical tracks, returns, plugins on the tracks and returns. Is...

Re: Crash while moving a clip within the session view

Hi Christian

my machine is a Macbook Pro 2.53GHz, 4 GB of RAM and the CPU usage is at 11% while playing back 8 tracks at the same time.
Sometimes this monitor for disk lights orange for some miliseconds.

Regards
Nico

Crash while moving a clip within the session view

My set contains around 1.000 clips. In the session view I moved a clip (MP3 audio file of 18 MBytes) from one slot to another while the set was playing back. And then Live crashed. My System: Mac OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard Live 8.1.3 RME Fireface 400 This happened 2 times. Any idea what might be wrong?...

Re: What Ableton IS KEEPING SECRET about Live's audio engine...

I thought the own creativity is more important than the audio engine of the DAW you use. :? However, I have worked with cubase and FL studio and Live for several years and Live is my DAW at the moment. I could not really hear any difference in the audio engine. The only thing I was thinking about is...

Re: Used MacBook Pro 13" - which model?

250 Gbyte are more than enough for my purposes.
So, the CPU's are the same except the speed? Both are Core2Duos with the same architecture, right?
So the 2.53 GHz machine (#2) will be fester than the 2.4 GHz machine (#1)?

Re: My Stanton Uberstand Review

the crane stand looks great except one crappy thing: only of piece at the bottom to hold everything?!
in the video you see it's pretty shakily. 2 pieces at the bottom to hold it would be much better in my opinion.

Re: New Macbook Pro I5 and I7 Processor

What is your experience with the heat of the MB Pro?
Are they getting very hot if you are running it with heavy CPU load for 60 minutes?

Re: You Do Realize that 8.1.3 still crashes ALL THE TIME???!!?!?

Still some issues here with 8.1.3.
Most of the crashed occur if I play back the arrangement in arrangement view and click into the time bar to jump to different locations in the track.
I use a lot of 3rd party plugins and I am running Live on windows XP 32 Bit.
