Re: Do I Need an Interface?

Thx. Yes, I absolutely don't care about the recording quality/preamp and any effects. I export the track from his DAW to mine after the jam so as long as it doesn't sound horrible during the jam because of clipping or anything it's fine. We don't use guitars or any other instruments. The only reaso...

Im guessing it is in the Cue at some point as now we have VST3 and ARA is built upon that spec I believe.

Re: Do I Need an Interface?

I want to jam with one person only who also uses Ableton. In prior jams, everybody owned an interface and we synced the computers with link. I don't own an interface, but I'm also wondering if I really need one. E.g. I got a microphone here which I just plug in via USB-c. Can I plugin the other com...

Re: Korg M1 Piano Sample for SIMPLER?

I am looking for the Korg M1 Piano for ideally, SIMPLER or SAMPLER? Does anyone know if this exists as a free download multisample or a paid professional sample bank for either of these Ableton devices, or indeed maybe Kontakt at a push? I don't really need the Korg M1 VST.. Thanks! Soundfonts or S...

Re: Beginner Arrangement Question

Hey, I've realised over the last few weeks that I've spent more time watching YouTube tutorials and reading music theory than I have actually spending time on Ableton! So over the last couple of days I've decided to let go a bit, just experiment, try new things and crack on. Finally, I feel like I'...

Re: Please recommend keyboard to complement Push

I want a new midi keyboard to complement Push 2. Here are my rough specs - it should have: * 61 keys. (I am not sure whether 88 keys will fit into my studio space, but that may be an option...) * velocity and aftertouch. * mod wheel and pitch bend. * at least semi weighted keys. * transport control...

Looking at a new electronic drum brain/interface to go into ableton. Any recommendations?
For drum programming Ableton's piano is pretty good esp when utilizing Session view to store clips for different patterns, and Drum Racks. What are you trying to do.

Ableton Push also is great.

Re: Low Cut increases volume?

So, this drum has a -5 db peak. But when I put an EQ8 on it, and CUT everything below 100 Hz, and cut everything above 19kHz, the signal no peaks at -0.2 db. Why does cutting frequencies out increase the peak volume of this sample?? note: This occurs or the Q on the EQ bands has no effect on this, ...

Re: Struggling with Latency

Hello! I would kindly appreciate some help from you all. I’m having consistent issues with Latency in Ableton Live Lite. If I lower the buffer size too much I get audio distortion. If I raise it there is Latency. There really isn’t a sweet spot with an acceptable level of latency. The least I can g...

Re: Good plug-ins to tune out feedback while performing live

I've been doing a number of gigs using ableton as an effect-box for my trumpet, primarily using grain, delay, ping pong and decay functions, while sometimes recordin in loops to work as effects. My spesific problem is how to tune out feedbacktones at recurring feedbacks at eg 110 and 330 hertz, I g...

Re: What level is Normalize on export?

Hi. I've been doing some tests of some portable digital recorders and using the Normalize option on export. How can I determine what level Ableton Live is outputting this audio at? For example, is it -23 LUFS? I would like to know. Thanks! I cant say I've ever normalized any mix/master. I would jus...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

The value is insane. Right now, you can 'demo' Reaper host Equator or Cypher 2 etc. and you get full MPE support rewired into Live. Not to mention the rest of Reaper as a package. I'm going to bet Reaper eventually comes out with a VST version after rewire disappears entirely, then we're stuck with...

Re: Catalina will break Live 9

This happens almost every year though after a new OS.

I tend to wait about 6 months or so after a new OS until all of the bugs get sorted out. For a new computer buyer though, I can feel their pain though.

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

One interesting thing about this is that I haven't realized how far Reason's sequencer has lagged behind. I'm pretty sure alot of Reason only users are upset as the main feature kind of implies to use another DAW. That can be a big investment of money and time. But nowadays there are alot of free or...

Re: Midi note/chord detection

hi all, i am wondering, is there a mac au plugin that can detect what midi notes or chords i am playing, like logic 8 does in the transport bar? thanks, herculano There might be a M4L plugin that does this. I think Reaper might do this as well (but I'm not sure) with a JS plugin or notation editor.
