Re: Channel EQ or EQ8?

They have around the same CPU draw. Light in either case. Which do you think is a better channel strip eq for iso instrumentation tracks? Trying to assemble my default audio track. Admittedly 8 bands is likely overkill for carving out a good eq. But I have a pretty good group device that has most o...

Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

I am currently testing out a bunch of combinations for my buffer size and sample rate. To make sure that I am getting a good gauge of whether I will hear breaks and crackles during a set, I am stacking midi clips in as many as four tracks and playing them simultaneously. The lowest I have been able...

Re: Best setup/configuration for multiple hardware synths/effects

Setup ----- 1 Poly synth 2 Bass/mono synths 1 Multi-FX processor Komplete Audio 6 The KA6 will accommodate the synths without any mods, however, the problem is the effects processor. I could use it in-line on one of the synths at a time but that seems very limiting. Ideally, I'd like to use I/O 3&4...

Re: Live Hi-Hat Roll

Its available in Push, but I'm guessing people are using M4L scripts to customize the launchpad.

Probably many ways to do this though.

Re: What Ableton IS KEEPING SECRET about Live's audio engine...

There's nothing wrong with Ableton's audio engine. Few people doing electronic music (which is what most Live users do) push the limits of the audio quality of any of the DAWs, even everyone's favorite whipping boys Fruity Loops and Reason. Now if you need to record classical music in a great sound...

Re: STILL NO COMPING?!

You can 100% do comping in Live. In fact its one of the best implementations of it I've ever used. Just loop a section in arrangement view. Then do as many takes as you want. When your done open up clip view. All your takes are there in order with loop brackets around each take. I actually like the...

Re: Question about moving transients

Hi! This is my first post here so forgive me if this is the wrong place or a dumb question. I'm pretty new to Ableton, last night I recorded and mixed a project on it for the first time. It was four songs comprising of just two acoustic guitars. Some parts needed to be quantized and I found it supe...

Re: Sound quality loss when warping

Hello everyone! I have an issue every time I use warping on some drum recordings in Live 10. It's like some kind of quality loss which sounds like a weird effect, a chorus or something especially on the cymbals. Sometimes it even cracks and distorts a little. It's really annoying. Here is the origi...

Re: Using External Hard Drives

Hi all and thanks for looking. I have read that it is preferable to use ext hard drives for some elements of Ableton? However, to apply some context - my Mac broke last week and it's not repairable, not by me anyway. It worked well and had a 500gb SSD internally so it had decent space and was quick...

Re: Why do my tracks sound better inside Ableton than exported?

Some say that LIVEs summing enginge is not that great. Or you could argue that no DAWs summing engines are as good as if yo u had an analog summing box. If you are really interested check out some external summing boxes. All DAW summing engines are more or less pretty similar to each other. DAW sum...

Re: Ableton Live in jazz music?

I’m Jan a jazz guitar student from Switzerland and I’m writing my bachelor thesis about Ableton Live in jazz music and therefore I need some help/your knowledge. What options does Ableton Live offer which are used in jazz? By who? And where do I get other information which could be interesting and ...

Re: Who programmed the DSP for Ableton's stock plugins?

Does anyone know who programmed the DSP for Ableton's stock plugins? Obviously Softube did the ones that are labelled as such, and Glue Compressor is Cytomic's The Glue, but I'm curious about the others. AIR did many of the Pro Tools plugins back in the day, and many of Omnisphere's effects were do...
