Re: Increase the default amount of measures in the piano roll

In the piano roll, it seems that the default number of measures on screen is 1. It doesn't show additional measure unless you copy or drag a not outside of the 1st measure. Nor does it allow you to zoom out to see more empty measures. I like having a lot of room when I'm adding notes. Is there a wa...

Re: Mixing under a slanted ceiling?

Does anyone have any experience with or tips for mixing in a loft room with a slanted ceiling? It’s relatively spacious and carpeted, so it’s not too reflective, but I don’t know where to face my monitors. Would it be better to face them towards one of the sides with the slanted ceiling (long ends)...

Re: How to make horror core/phonk/lofi vocals ???!!!!

Hello everyone, I have recorded my voice for a phonk music like freddie dredd and other. However I don't know how to mix the vocals. I want to make a vocal like this : https://youtu.be/wRoc_Il8QfA?list=PLr0KrbXVPMQsyDVQf9UGGFXCGDe_lfGK5 https://youtu.be/UYdMr1w05qA?list=PLr0KrbXVPMQsyDVQf9UGGFXCGDe...

Re: abletons multicore handling

as i understand one track is always computed by one core only. 1st track = 1st core 2nd track = 2nd core ........ but how is it with drum racks? one core for 1 chain or one for the whole drum rack? I would guess a drum Rack gets treated as one track, even though they can get pretty complex but if y...

Re: newbie

hi guys, as the title states, I am new to Ableton software. I’m halfway the free trial period, and of course I’m wondering which version to buy? do I start with intro or standard, to then later upgrade? or do I go straight fot the suite version? I’ve also bought the Push 2, which I’m very excited a...

Re: Bit depth?

So i've read that nowadays 24 is the most used bit depth when exporting files since its a big bump from the 96dB dynamic range that 16 gives you. But what im wondering is what "bit depth" am i hearing my music inside of ableton played back to me at? Does this have anything to do with whether or not...

Re: compression on master channel

Compression on the master should be very, very light - if used at all. As has been said try and get your mix properly nailed down first. If you are going to use compression on your master, personally I'd go for a multiband compressor. It will allow you more control over the compressing of various b...

Re: Need help to build pc to run Ableton and Reason

Hi everyone. I need help putting together a pc to run Ableton, Reason and Traktor. I currently run on a six year old laptop from 2013. I can run one program or the other but barely anything more than that at the same time. I have a budget of roughly $1500. I don’t need a monitor or kB or mouse. I a...

Re: Resources needed for understanding MIDI better.

Can someone provide me with some useful, easy to digest tutorial/blogs etc on MIDi and better understanding it. I'll explain my situation, might be it helps narrow down the scope of the topic. I'm preparing my live set and I'm using an APC40 for launching clips/basic mixing (Audio Effect Racks, Sen...

Re: Is MacBookPro "Core i5" 2.5 13" Mid2012 recommended for Ableton live + Max for live?

When looking at something to power modern software, a 7 year old computer is not something I would personally ever sink my money into even with the Apple name on it, especially an older i5 mobile processor. Just set your expectation bar very, very low and expect nothing from any modern synth you lo...

Re: samples location?

It is up to you. If you have the space SSD will allow faster loading but if you don’t or don’t plan on using these samples often an external mechanical is fine. Most Live samples load pretty fast anyways unless you are using a multi gigabyte orchestral or Live Drum patch. Keep in mind I’m referring ...

I dont have much experience with i5 processors but I know you definitely need a quad core if you plan on using soft synths.

I bought a 2014 core i7 mac dual core. Pretty decent for just audio work but most modern softsynths brings it to its knees.

Reaktor Polyplex even gave it trouble.

Re: Software synths for live performance latency

Hi, I've been trying to play a number of software synths through my Ableton set via MIDI controllers and am getting some pretty intense and unpredictable latency. My audio output latency is down to 5-6ms but the playback through the synths is much greater. This occurs consistently with plugins and ...

Re: why is my final track volume so low??

the question is, why do you want it to be competitively loud? I think you are missing his point, he is saying that his tracks are not producing the volume that similar tracks produce in iTunes... I am having the same issue, for example... I export a track and play it in my car and I can turn it to ...
