My request is to have some sort of button akin to the "classic" loop pedal "record/overdub" or "start/stop" button, i.e. a button that will start recording the input signal when pushed, and then stop recording and start looping when pushed again. Then, to overdub, just push the button once to feed ...

Augustus Loop was released for PC a while back.

Jumping into this thread a little late - basically, what daniel_grieff said. Use the input level to control whether you're overdubbing or not. I'm always happy to hear feature requests for Augustus - though ideally over at the KVR forum, which I monitor a bit more closely. http://www.kvraudio.com/fo...

No, as I'm on Mac. Just commenting because it's another sign of how lame it was for Apple to come up with yet another proprietary plug in format in the form of Audio Units. This developer used to code for Audio Unit and OSX only, now he's releasing free plug ins on Windows only. A pretty obvious ex...

Fixed here - it was a beta ReWire driver from another app. Removed it, now Live is happy again.

I'm having this problem in Live 7.0.2 & 6.0.10 on OS X 10.4.11. First time Live's let me down since... well, ever. I'm also seeing the disk activity write spikes at the same time as the audio dropouts.

Will check out the other thread mentioned above, but this is bad... really bad.

Has anyone updated to Live 6.0.3 and still had the same problem? A quick test here didn't crash.

Actually VST 2.4 allows for plug-ins that resize.

I'm in the process of updating my VST versions (including Minky Starshine) to VST 2.4, and enabling resize (which was previously AU only) in the process.

I agree, this is very frustrating. A possible workaround would be for me to put an option into Augustus so it only ever generated rounded tempos. It would have to do something odd with your foot taps though... i.e. the loop time you got wouldn't be _exactly_ what you tapped, but maybe it would be cl...

Hi, Os here, developer of Augustus Loop. I've been able to reproduce this Live 6 crash when trying to change audio configs, and I'm talking to Ableton about it. I'd love them to fix this soon, since I use Live and Augustus a lot in my music - this is preventing me from upgrading right now. For me, t...

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

I personally feel that that's a mistake, and is unnecessarily limiting the user - but then I would, since it's causing a problem with my plug-in. I'm surprised this isn't a more widespread issue for people.

Anyway, at least I now know for sure what's going on.

cheers,
os.

You'd do this by: - pressing 'Tap Rec' to start recording - pressing 'Tap Rec' again to stop recording and start looping At this point Augustus will normally still be recording as well as looping. However by controlling the 'input level' control, you can effectively stop and start recording while lo...
