Re: Push - Sample Recording/Chopping workflow needed.

humnumb: get out of my request thread please. Your constant 'Maschine is better than all' diatribe is extremely tiresome. It's the same thing time and again.
Got anything constructive to say about what I posted?

seriously

Sympathies and all that but...

why did you guys choose to do this on the ACTUAL day of launch. Seems like it was asking for trouble.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Thanks for the vid share yur2die4, that's some impressive finger drumming alright. I've never been that comfortable playing pads on a 4x4 grid and even watching that vid makes me feel claustrophobic. I think we're going to start seeing some impressive performances on the Push surface in the coming y...

Push - Sample Recording/Chopping workflow needed.

I posted this on the beta forum but I'll also post here to preserve it for all posterity. It doesn't contain anything particularly beta related so I guess it's ok and it's the 11th hour. I feel that this is an area that has been neglected from the focus of the Push workflow. For those of us about to...

The pads are very nice indeed, but then so are the Push pads apparently :)

Re: Live 9 MIDI Remote Scripts revealed...

You're really doing a great job making Push seem an even more desirable controller.
Beautiful images and insightful analysis.

Thanks for everything so far and looking forward to more.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I was under the impression that Push had a 'User Mode' which allows you to set it up the way you want. Not sure of the actual implications of this yet but seems quite interesting. Check out Julian Bayle's blog. Specifically the part titled 'ABLETON PUSH USER MODE' http://julienbayle.net/ableton-push...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I went and did it! pre-ordered Push tonight. I couldn't contain myself any longer. After absorbing all the info I don't think I'll regret it for a second.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

What if you have a module that simply 'listens' to audio as a sort of anchor like the first device. I know this is possible because it's how Granulator works currently, I've just no idea exactly what's going on in that patch at the moment. I've opened it up a couple of times and it scares me. This ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

(Also, is it possible to make a device that only records a sample, then you hit One button to have the sample sent to either a drum rack or instance of Simpler in a new track? I started building 2 devices to try and understand what is possible to do with Max For Live. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91738...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

To be honest I have a feeling that it's less cynical than that and more intrinsic to Ableton's audio and midi architecture. How do you route audio to a midi track and vice versa. Apparently you can use a side-chain trick but it seems a bit of a hack. I think it would require a lot of work and rewrit...
