Re: Is the AKAI MPD32 compatible with Ableton Live 8?

That sounds interesting. How do I do that? I just acquired one, and the pads feel a bit insensitive. I want to be able to just touch them & get a response. The mpd32, I mean. I'm actually selling my modded MPD32. It has served me well but I NEED more sensitiviy so I'm a bit bummed I chose it over M...

Step Sequence and play real time pads at the same time?

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

True, guys let's not turn this into a Maschine evangelist hangout or a Push apologist society :) There are enough of those type of threads unfortunately. We should not be ashamed to say if there's something about our chosen controller that we don't like. In the long term everybody is informed and wh...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Gotta admit it makes Live's Drum Racks look quite archaic..

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

TomV, you're correct in your assumption, I do own Live 8 Suite and have been giving the 9 Beta a go too. This is the reason I started this thread in the 1st place, I need a controller that will aid with the creative process. The Maschine seems to be able to cover all bases but Push just has more imm...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

These are all things to consider. I noticed on the Questions & Answers thread their response is that 'your wish is noted', hopefully these notes don't just get put in a warehouse somewhere. RE: - Push doesn't automap to plugins without saving them in racks first [/i] As I stated before this doesn't ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

What I meant by 'smart controls' was this: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D8267AEBB269FACD I've not experimented with this yet but I'd imagine you could create some really intricate slicing presets in Live that would allow you to really change the nature of your existing samples. Again you ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Hey, this is a really lively & healthy debate. I've not made my mind up, not surprisingly, and probably won't until Push hits the shops and I can actually have some hands on experience. If I were to buy Maschine I would be primarily using it as a plugin for Live. I realise that a lot of people love ...

Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

*Disclaimer* Well I went for Push in the end. Look to the quote at the end of this first post for a comprehensive breakdown of the pros and cons that I considered. Thanks to all who participated and hope this helps others. Original Query I was almost completely sold on the forthcoming Push controll...

Re: Should i wait for push overall?

I'm getting one but will wait until I can check one out at my local music store as I need to feel the pads. (but if they're good enough for Jeremy Ellis , why bother? ha) I'm selling my Akai MPD32 because the pad responsiveness is just not good enough, even with the mpcstuff fat pad mod. What I will...

Battery life on the surface pro is abysmal apparently. Might just last an entire set though, if you're lucky.

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers

Is sampling/chopping on the fly and assigning to a Pad using only the controller something that is being pursued? If so, how high a priority is it?

Re: Best NI Maschine Template To Use With Live

Ableton is like Maschine + a million capabilities. I don't think you even need to mess with a Maschine any more. Nonsense. Maschine can give you an entirely mouseless hands-on workflow that feels more like using a hardware instrument. You'll never get that kind of experience from Live, even with Pu...

Humnumb, are you paid by NI to constantly spam this same info repeatedly? If not I'd seek some help.

Don't listen to this guy he's a shill.
