I don’t usually take the bait and chip in on these quasi rant posts, but on this one I feel obliged to put in my penny’s worth – I not a DJ. I am a first and fore mostly a musician. My background is in classical (playing the Violin) music. I have since taken up the guitar and can play pretty well in...

jbible,

Thanks for the info.

Cheers

Faderfox (or midi device) with X- Station ?

Hi, Got my Faderfox LV1 delivered yesterday. Very cute (good job I haven't got fat fingers !) I was going to get a small midi interface (probably still will), but then realised that my X-Station has in and out midi ports/connections and I should be able to use that. I've plugged the midi lead from t...

Recently used files ?

Just read the response about hearing Midi noted when moved - excelllent.

Just wanted to know if the File dropdown for 'most recent files/projects' will be implemented.

It's a real drag having to navigate to the file each time. Especially when there are several versions.

Just checked the EMU site.

Looks like the cardbus part of the system only has the one headphone output. The breakout box looks fairly small though, and it does have DSP effects which would be good for the Live 4 CPU gorging.

I'll think I will take a look at one over the weekend.

Thanks for the replies.

The Indigo looks very tempting I have to say.

Just need to check whether the new Emu gives you the same without the breakout box.

Hi, This is interesting in a bad way ! I'm currently putting the tracks together for my DJ Set on Live (Laptop). I haven't used the prelisten yet. I have been using my X-station (or the onboard) as a soundcard (not sure how many outputs this has but it does has a seperate headphone output - probably...

Hi,

I was keen to get one asap, so was hoping to get one locally.

I'll order one direct.

Has anyone done the bank transfer bit and know how you go about it.

Thanks

Faderfox - Can you get them from UK outlets ?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get these controllers from outlets/shops in the UK (preferably london), rather than ordering them from the company in Germany.

Thanks

Record no longer fires clip ??

Hi, I've got a bit of a problem recording a midi clip in Session view. I used to be able to arm a midi track for record (say FM7) and have a audio loop (say a kick drum) on track one. When I triggered the midi clip for record using the round button on the clip track, the drum beat clip would start a...

Hi, Been thinking of getting one myself. I posted on the Cubase site and got some 'Emu' ranting. Looks like the deal to me if the drivers are ok (seems to be the main problem with the Emu cards). Spiderpod - Could you please post your findings. It would be really helpful, as it's not exactly a cheap...

Using the X-Station here with no problems at all.

New drivers have just been released along with an Editor that lets you set up midi controls etc on the pc screen. It's not the most intuitive, but pretty good.

Hi,

I've been asking for this since version 3 !!

The other ludicrous issue is no 'recent files' in the menu.
Having to navigate to the file to open it is frankly idiotic.
I know of no other program where you have to do this.

I use live for the 'creative' process (especially for my more 'dance' oriented stuff). Putting the track together so that it's 90% done and then import al the parts into cubase for the final Mix. Once the song is complete in its 'arrange' format, Cubase SX leaves live standing for navigation, folder...

Amberience,

Thanks for the reply.

Can you explain what you mean by 'sending a midi note message' and how to do this on a Audio track
