i dropped a beat repeat on a midi track and it works great. probably doesn't throw midi output, but if you want just audio output it seems to work fine. unless i'm misunderstanding the question.

double click the clip, in the clip view that opens up there is a colored bar underneath the clip name. click that and choose your color.

don't know if your still having this problem, but if you are try the crash in Trad Rock and let us know if you have the same problem. i just went through a lot of the kits and most of them (including Big Rocker) have really sorry excuses for crash sounds (but then, i've heard that good crash samples...

have you tried changing the length of the note? the default grid is 1/16, try making the crash note something 1/8 or 1/4.

do you mean a 32nd (as in a half 16th) or a dotted 16th (as in one and a half 16th)?
