That's awesome! I still have my s950, mostly for the great memories on the road, etc. Thanks for sharing this!

Re: Live 9 Browser and the new User folder

I feel the same way. Not really sure why they added things but removed some of the basic ways. The browser is a wreck. I love Live but I have to use 8 until they get the basics worked out...

Re: Sample Chopping in Live 9

I figured it out. It was a velocity problem. My slicing preset has the velocity at 0. And when I chop in Live 8 is stays that way. However in Live 9 it changes it to 100. I tried remaking the preset in 9 with the velocity at 0 but it still changes it to 100 when I actually slice the sample. Is ther...

Re: Sample Chopping in Live 9

I haven't tested your exact issue, is it a preset you had saved in Live 8 and moved over? I'm curious to see how it would act if you created the preset inside 9 and saved it.

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

The good news: Seems like there are frequent beta releases, the newest being 03/15/2013

Haven't seen them address our browser concerns... still hopeful !

Re: Ableton 9's search function in browser. Please help?

Live 9 is horrible at browser / file management.

There is a thread on this, I'd recommend posting your questions and complaints there as well.

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

It was brought up at the Live 9 / Push demonstration I attended. So, it's not just a handful of people with oddball requests for file management.

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

I did a little more testing and it's a vicious circle. In order to preview the sounds you have to add them, in order to add them to your library and you have to wait indefinitely . I'm giving up and waiting for some type of fix or work around. Trying to assume positive intent with this type of codin...

Re: Upgrade to Suite?

Unless there is a deadline to take advantage of saving money, I'd wait until they iron out some of the issues with 9 before upgrading.
Just my opinion of course =]

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

Bear in mind also that Ableton might change the way the Browser works over the next few months. My advice is to keep it as simple as possible. agreed. as mentioned, Ableton has stated (in this thread) that they are looking into it. besides the browser, i don't see too many substantial complaints re...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

This sounds absolutely terrible. Thanks for highlighting the issue: I'm both glad I didn't go 9, and also know for certain I won't be doing it. Just making sure here: one can't browse the contents of hard drives with the Live 9 browser at all without first "adding" the drives/folders and having the...

Re: Logic Studio 9 vs Ableton live 8 Suite

Just my two cents... If you have the talent, the software is simply the tool to express yourself. The better you know the tool, the more music you can make!!! Things to consider: What way do you like to make music? What's your approach? What are you used to? Pattern based, with an option to be laid ...

Re: Is there a way to drag a slice Sampler to Simpler?

just option + drag (actually I think you can even do CMD+C/V to copy/paste these days) and right click on the sampler "sampler>simpler" Thanks so much for the reply! When I do what you say, it copies all of the slices to the simpler. Maybe I am doing it incorrectly? I tried right clicking, chose co...

Is there a way to drag a slice Sampler to Simpler?

If I slice an audio loop to a MIDI track (to SAMPLER) Is there a way to take one of the slices and copy or drag it over to an instance of Simpler? I want to be able to play that slice chromatically on another track. Basically emulating the MPC. I've searched and read quite a bit on custom slicing pr...
