Re: Survey? Really?

Fire the dumb ass that thought it would be a good idea. Or at least include a feedback box so I can tell them to quit wasting resources on this crap and fix the freakin' CPU issues. Idiocy at it's finest....

CPU Issues

Getting really weird behavior where Live 9 randomly ramps up and spikes the CPU. It appears to get worse as the project sits for a while. No other processes running and never in the same place. I7 Macbook Pro 16 gigs of ram. Not sure if this is worse since I upgraded to 9.03. Anyone else seeing this?

Live9 Craps out at 50% CPU???

Why is there even a CPU meter when it tells you absolutely nothing about the performance of the program? Even at 40% I start hearing odd random artifacts. Is this "metering" complete BS?

Selective clip play on Scene selection

A simple optiion in the clip launch prefs to not play when a scene is triggered. This has been discussed quite a bit over the years and would greatly streamline and add flexibility to a live performance without changing any of Live's original functionality. Simple, elegant and very much needed.

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

Keep it going, guys. It really boggles me why anyone can't see the advantages of this very simple fix, both for musical composition, organizing clips, and for saving grid real estate. I mean, it is SO fricken simple to do this, and so powerful - I think it is indefensible that Ableton hasn't implem...

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

you could add a few bars of silence at the beginning of the clips, you dont want to be launched... they will be launched of course, but it won't matter... If you're into counting, you can make them start at a specific amount of bars after you launched the scene... but actually, i don't see, why you...

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

Well dang.. I'll give it a try though. If not, Fluqe's Onstage http://www.fluqe.com/ will do the job for now until this hopefully gets implemented. Worked well when I was using Logic live. I've been using Mainstage for the last few years and it's been bulletproof but this new project is done entirel...

Also, please check out this thread (ignore some of the inevitable vitriol):

It pretty much lays out what I'm asking for. Thanks!

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

Thanks Mike. I checked out Clyphx and it would fit the bill but unfortunately it's slight latency makes it a non starter :( Close though and a very cool script! I guess it's time to dive in to M4L.. I have been duly warned ;-)

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

Curious how you would select a clip from a controller? But since you are selecting clips anyway, what would be the difference between what you are asking for - Fire only selected clips on scene launch- vs Just selecting any clips you want, from various scenes and hitting enter to launch the selecte...

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

Having the option to not launch a specific clip would be give me exactly what I asked for. And no, disabling the clip is not the option at all. You can't launch it without enabling it which defeats the purpose. 8O That's totally bogus because all clips are enabled by default. Edit : Second; your cu...

Re: Only trigger selected clips on scene launch?

I really don't see how adding a simple clip option to "not" launch on scene selection would add any kind of latency or be that difficult to do. Have you even read Asymmetricalmusic's post (2 hours before yours) ? Because this option is already there. Also keep in mind that it's completely different...
