Re: OT: MS Windows 7

Guys, is no one of u running Win7 RC and Live 8 experiencing problems with the visual feedback? I have visual lags like hell. Level Meters jumping choking, everything stutters (visually). Not good, not good. Maybe its the aero skin? But its not acceptable. I can´t work like that. Its running fine, ...

Re: OT: MS Windows 7

Microsoft are making moves, albeit slow, towards dropping native legacy application support with Windows 7. An example of this is XP Compatibility mode which essentially is a virtualised XP machine which runs compartmentalised, this allows the user to execute XP and older programs whilst allowing Mi...

Re: Rollback to Live 7 - we can't play live with Version 8

yeh my problems with live turned out to be the graphics card driver of all things! Changed it to the Vista driver instead of the Windows 7 one and Live started to work fine!

Guess thats what you get by playing around with beta operating systems heh

Re: Rollback to Live 7 - we can't play live with Version 8

yeh live8 keeps crashing all over the shop for me, loading/previewing samples and it locks up, warping sometimes takes ages (where as the same operation in l7 is realtime) and crashes, cpu utilisation higher than l7...

nebulae wrote:^ ok this concerns me, since Sylenth is my go-to synth...how much higher CPU usage are you seeing?
Not alot, 4-6% per instance depending on the number of effects/automation[s] in use. This is on a T9300 2.5Ghz Core2Duo laptop CPU.

Re: Windows 7

Live 7.0.3, 7.0.6 and 7.0.14 all work fine for me on Windows 7 x64 build 7000. There was no need for me to use compatibility mode for the application. The only side effects I've found are: - Higher CPU utilisation with certain VST instruments than under XP or Vista (Albino/Sylenth1 mainly) - There a...

Re:

From what I can see it's missing. Multiple take comping (the only real reason I switched to Logic, makes recording vocals and guitar solos so much easier and even they havnt quite got it right as it's very buggy). OMF support - a way to easiy move between DAWS. For many they are stuck with one prog...

Quicktime and Live

Does anyone know why Live is so tightly linked into Quicktime (for example, a number of responses from Ableton support suggest installing the latest Quicktime to fix problems)?

Option to have normal scrollbars for all interface parts

Would be really great to have normal windows type scrollbars as an option to turn on/off in all areas of the interface such as arrangement, sample views, etc to use as an alternative to the "Overview" scroll facility. this would make scrolling a lot more easier for me.

I use Vista x64 and the RME Fireface 400 (although there is an 800 with more channels if you decide you need them ongoing). Sound is flawless and in my opinion rates better than the MOTU/MAudio equivilents for the money. I tested it against the Presonus when buying mine and the RME appeared to have ...

a really useful option in Live would be to automatically load samples into RAM rather than disk (instead of having to manually tell Live to do it for every sample in a tune). This would be rather dangerous for the RAM handling of your machine - therefore this is an option which requires user action...

Hi, Thanks for the reply - I found the problem: I had the Decoding Cache (temporary folder) set to my Ramdisk (Cenatek Ramdisk VE), setting it back to a hard disk location fixed the problem. The problem I have is that I get audio breakup under disk access (because the SATA chipset locks up the pci e...

All mp3's say "file xx.mp3 could not be read" help!

Hi all, I've recently bought a new laptop (PC - Vista x64). I'm getting an error message whenever I try to import any mp3 into Live (7.0.3) - it says "File xxx.mp3 could not be read. It may be corrupt or not licensed." (where xxx is the filename) This applies for all mp3's, including mp3s that worke...
