Re: Computer music magazine live 8 ?

The best thing about them is the producer masterclass videos, however Producer masterclass videos (and In The Studio With from Future Music) have gone downhill badly of late. When I started subscribing (about 18-24 months ago) they were fairly meaty videos - now we're lucky to get 20 minutes of foo...

Re: A Question on disk usage in Mac OSX.

Did not meant to be rude... But apple help is your friend... Top very left in the finder... But you found out anyway, so it's all cool. No worries dude - I fully admit to being lazy and looking to a Tiger/Leopard difference rather than clicking around a bit. Respectively reading about OSX on the ap...

Re: A Question on disk usage in Mac OSX.

It's in tiger as well, let's start lesson one... Learn OSX... Hey there. Who took the jam out of your donut today? I did some more investigating and it seems that the Calculate All Sizes option is only available if you use List View in Finder. I don't - and I'm betting there are other people in the...

Re: A Question on disk usage in Mac OSX.

Thanks for the info guys. And Vakis, open a finder window, look at whatever folders you want to calculate, hit apple + J, a window pops up. Seclect what you want to see in your finder window, then go from there. Some calculations take a while, depending on the size of the folders. Is this a Leopard...

Re: A Question on disk usage in Mac OSX.

I would like to see a breakdown of what is using the space on my hard drive. Disk Inventory X - I found it a little hard to figure out the results at first, but it makes sense to me now. http://www.derlien.com/screenshots/files/page3_2.jpg I lost a load of hard disk space unexpectedly once, and whe...

Re: now then fettlers - is applecare worth the brass?

Just think about it logically, for 3 years cover on a macbook it's £200, do you have insurance already? £200 quid is steep, but I've seen Mac Pro Apple Care (£199) going for as low as £49.99 on Ebay. Pays to hunt around. £50 wouldn't be so bad, but if you've already got insurance why waste money? I...

the audivisual DVD is ace. Was just about to buy the standard (CD only) edition until I saw your post - the CD+DVD version was actually cheaper too! Nice one - ta! +1 for your choice. it's worth. Mucho thanks for the recommendation - great visuals. Helped pass about 40 minutes on the treadmill the ...

Re: Depeche Mode Remix Contest with Decent Prizes

I usually don't do this but... special circumstances. My roommate and very good friend entered the contest and I'm spamming up a few boards to get a few votes in his favor. :P http://www.beatportal.com/remix/detail/peace-ri-caragol-peace-remix/ Sounds good, although the vocals spoil it slightly :-)

Re: FW 800 to 400 adapter for mac mini

Yeah, I think you over thought this one. A cable with the right connection types at each end works fine. For a portable setup, I like to have the adapter and a FW400 cable - that way if I need to connect to another machine with only FW400 I'm sorted. For a permanent setup at home, a dedicated cable...

Re: MODEselector + appaRAT = MODERAT album is out

Out of interest, how does everyone "pronounce" Moderat. I thought of it as mod-er-at. My wife saw it and thought mode-rat. I laughed until I thought about the title of the thread MODE + RAT.

Anyone?

Re: MOTU ultralite vs. Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1

I'd like to know if anybody has checked the new Focusrife Saffire Pro 40 or can compare this one with an Ultralite (they'r nearly same price, i tend to the focusrite pecause of the 8 mic preamps). I bought the Saffire Pro 40. I can't say it's not been without problems - the first unit seemed to blo...

Re: MOTU ultralite vs. Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1

One is Firewire and the other is USB May make a difference down the line considering the new Macs dont have Firewire Talk about a sweeping statement. The latest unibody MacBOOKS don't have Firewire. The MacBook White, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Pro lines all have FW400 or FW800 (backward c...
