Topic: How to sync an Electribe with Live??

the righthand menu button has several sub-menus (on the electribe), one of which says "sync". Set that to EXT. Then with all the advice above, making sure Live actually transmits MIDI Beat Clock, your electribe should start and stop, in time, whenever you tell live to start or stop.

make a crappy music video and post it under his birth name? just kidding... i'd suggest telling him to stop and then forgetting about the whole thing, as I suspect any effort beyond an email or two is putting too much time & energy into it. Not that your band name isn't worth protecting, but my gues...

dead air? No. The best way would be to simply highlight the region and hit delete time, if you are in Arrange mode. Other programs have the nice option to then crossfade the remaining regions, but Live doesn't, so you better hope for a seamless cut... otherwise its a little more work, creating new t...

I have nothing to add besides el_camello is correct. Unless your synthesizer has 88 seperate audio outputs (or one for each note). Or you could create a rack with 88 zones, and place a very narrow notch EQ at the start of every one, to affect just the fundamental of every note played on a single ins...

try overdub mode... although I'm not sure how overdub+punch in behave together, to be honest. Still, overdub allows you to piecemeal a track together (but I think not by overwriting, just mixing in all the new parts).

For converting to mp3, rendering to 24bit is overkill imo. And windows media player may not play them because they are not CD quality. I bet some mp3 players might convert from 24bit files, but i bet many only work with 16/44.1. Just a guess. Anyhow, tell us what you mean by bad quality? Are the ren...

you could make something to replace a hi-hat, but it wont sound like a hi hat. A high-pitched bleep, a ring-modded blurp, a high-pitched noisy fwoosh are all possible on the ER-1.

what have you tried?

It behaves like any audio effect... you just doubleclick to add it to a track, then click on its window in the Clips window. If you dont know how to add or edit effects plugins, the manual has a big old section on them... including beat repeat.

ER1 is great for drums... snares are great, the HH is just a sample.
By & Far my favorite part of the ER1 is that it also doubles as an FX unit, with tempo-synced ring mod/gating/delay of a stereo input... great for adding a layer of crazy sound to any music.

click on the arrangement view button and see if something has been recorded there and delete it, then come back to session & try again. That loop looks OK, i dont see anything wrong. SO the problem is that loops drift out of sync? Or they start out of sync? Now I'm confused. Still, erase anything in...

ok so i warped all my loops and set warp markers in each one, making sure the 1st one is on the first hit. The first warp marker doesn't necessarily mean that is where the sample will start playing. make sure the sample start marker is set there are well. And make sure the loop length is set to an ...

No, loop lengths are not start markers. They look somewhat similar, but are two different things. what is the global quantize set to? 2 bars? set it to 1 (or lower), and see what happens. Its the button at the top middle of screen. If you can't tell what it doesn, check the manual under "global quan...

um... make them multiples of each other.
Like 1.0.0 + 2.0.0 + 4.0.0 + 8.0.0

NOT 1.0.3 + 2.4.1 + 4.3.3 + 3.2.1

and still read the manual, esp. the part about Warping... you _need_ to know what that is used for.
