Re: What would be your ultimate MIDI controller?

Imo there is no need to put all features into a single unit, more important would be doing something which does not exist yet and which would add to all your other controllers you already have. Looking from this perspective I would say: 8 x 32 Matrix grid buttons, where the buttons can get any color...

Re:

get a used RS7000 and have one of the best hardware sequencers, xox programmers, 16 track midi controllers, with mute and scene groups Can you explain the advantages of mute and scene groups and how you are using them? Isn't it possible to create similar behaviour using only Live? Do we really have...

Re: Akai APC + MAX4LIVE+Live5 too Live 8 Suite = ROFLMAO

That said Live 5 with my RS7000 as a sequencer + control surface is pretty much the shit bomb for freestyle jamming and fleshing out compositional ideas. Hi Oscar F, what is possible with RS7000 what is not possible in Live? Isn't it possible to emulate those features of RS7000 also with Live, midi...

Re: How to emulate an RS7000 sequencer using only Live

I do not have any RS7000, but I am reading in many places people seem to love its sequencer for its live capabilities, mainly muting, soloing, mute grouping them, saving snapshots and recalling them, fast switches between these snapshots to name a few which I could see from various YouTube videos. T...

How to emulate an RS7000 sequencer using only Live

Did anybody try to emulate all or most sequencer features of Yamaha RS7000 using only Live, midi controllers, midi keyboard and pc keyboard? I am interested in the most liked features of RS7000 sequencer which are not available in Live as standard. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Sysex dumps/bulk to/from external synth?

You only need to convert Sysex --> CC in one direction, and in the other direction the opposite CC --> Sysex.

Re: Yamaha Rs7000's and Ableton

Did you try it out, what was the result? RS7000 and Live sounds cool. I like the RS7000's mute state LED style: LED = off if track is empty LED = on if track is playing LED = blinking if track is non-empty but muted The LED blinking speed is just relaxing. How is the difference of Rm1x if I would wa...

Re: Quick question I can't find an answer to

There's one tip that was mentioned here that may have drowned a bit in all the excitation: If you record your audio into a session slot instead of directly into arrangement, you can fuck around with other parameters all you like. When you're done recording, simply drag or copy the new clip into arr...

Re: Quick question I can't find an answer to

However, when Record is on, all tweak automations are still recorded despite which track is armed! So arming is not relative to automation just input being midi or audio. A definite option to disable Automation recording While enabling Audio recording would actually be a good candidate for the feat...

Re: Splitting drum midi tracks into seperate channels?

I know on Cubuse, I recently saw - if you have a drum track, you can seperate each instrument (symbols, bass drum, snare etc) into seperate tracks, I tried doing this manually in Live, but it came out kind of messy, is there an option or a way to send each part of the drum midi to seperate channels...
