Re: Free all Midi/Key Commands...!

And let us save and restore KEY & MIDI mappings (separate files)- PLEASE It seems currently MIDI mappings can be saved only in the form of midi remote scripts, meaning only using python programming language. As key mappings are anyways too limited concentrating mainly on midi mappings and using ins...

Re: Free all Midi/Key Commands...!

hehe well I found the drawback remapping to single keys using autohotkey: now I cannot rename a clip using any of the keys I used to remap the shortcuts :? Add this to your AutoHotkey code: F2:: ; press F2 to rename object { Suspend, On Send, ^r Keywait, Return, d Suspend, Off return }

Re: how can a midi track output data to multiple midi channels

Is is possible for lives midi tracks to handle multichannel midi? I want to sent some CC's out to a machinedrum which means having to send them on separate midi channels. anyway to do this without needing multiple midi tracks? You can do this if you use for each midi channel a separate midi track i...

Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!

You have to scroll down manually. If you hold the session button down, you get a vertical scrollbar of sorts which allows you to jump to specific scenes in increments of 8. Hmm, not good news, for me "real bi-directional connection" would be if you would click with the mouse in Live and this state ...

Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!

How is the bi-directional connection in Launchpad working exactly? Here is an example question: Imagine you have built up a Session-View-Matrix with a fixed size of 256 X 256, then you click in Live with the mouse on any grid/slot, e.g. the slot location 200 X 200. Will the red Launchpad rectangle i...

Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!

Is it possible with the Launchpad to use it as a 2 * 4 X 8 Matrix, instead of the normal 1 * 8 X 8 Matrix? Meaning we would split the whole Launchpad 2D button space horizontally into two parts and use those parts separately, the upper part controlling tracks 1..8 and the lower parts controlling tra...

Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!

I would prefer a modular version where you would have basically three types of modules 1. left side module 2. 8 X 1 button strip which is the middle module 3. right side module This would allow you to use as many 8 X 1 button strips as you like, the middle modules should be able to get connected to ...

Buying a new footpedal, which one?

I want to buy a new footpedal to use together with Live. At first glance at Thomann.de Behringer FCB 1010 for 139.- EURO looks interesting. My question is, are there any alternatives to it where you had experience with both, FCB1010 and the alternative you might mention here, and of course pro and c...

Re:

Any other ideas apart from Max? Best would be if Live could internally keep midi channel information in a single clip, so you could simply use 1 live midi track for 1 midi file and apply a filter by channel afterwards. But the bad news is this is not possible in Live to my knowledge. Well, it works...

consider the ability of the easy and extensive Key and midi mapping one of the few really outstanding functions that keep Live far apart and above other music apps around and make it so utterly unique... so i wonder, why that strength and uniqueness not ALL THE WAY? I asked a detailed question abou...

In Windows you can do this using AutoHotkey, for the Mac I am sure there should be similar applications and tools.

Key mapping: Maximum allowed key range

Is there any documentation for which characters are supported for the key mappings? I would like to know all supported characters, not just the obvious ones. UTF in general seems not to be supported, so what are the exact limitations? Thanks in advance.

Re: Permanant Key/MIDI Mapping

You can create an empty project, make your mappings and save it as a template in Live's prefs. Make different emtpy projects with your mappings for different scenarios. What I would like to see is the option to TYPE in midi mappings instead of having to move the controller. It can get really frustr...

Re: What is wrong with the controllers - build yours

about "too low-level", for me, the way is: - hardware (=firmware + physical controller) => only handles BASIC functions like, light a led, send value from button 0 or 1 - software => the real smart interface ... the brain isn't in the box, but in the computer. I agree with everything you wrote abov...

Most care for features and ignoring quality ... I am also not satisfied with the features in general, they are all too low-level, non-intelligent imo. I did not visit any music store for some time, some weeks ago I visited one again and could just see all the cheap quality of all new controllers, s...
