You could write an AutoHotkey automation (for PC), like press automatically record if (some_criteria_for_starting_recording). You have to come up with your own criteria.

I didn't want to go into the details, but often there can be nice workarounds by using also external tools like AutoHotkey (in Windows OS's), see also Vitamin L as an example.

Not to make unneccesary duplication of posts, just read the link content. It is about using automations efficiently with your midi-controller in the arrangement view and making locals edits without stopping the playback and global recording. This was how I wanted to work on the automations all the t...

Re: Touch fader automations in Live?

Recording only the automations which change while in global recording mode without overriding the older automations would be great. So it should follow the older automation curve as long as I don't change this curve (e.g. via a midi controller), it should not overwrite it with a constant value if I...

Thanks a lot Pitch Black, I "unlocked automation envelope fixation" and the automations are also time duplicated, great, what a time saver!

Duplicating time in arrangement view and automations

When duplicating time in arrangement view is it a good thing that the automations are not also duplicated or not? Just imagine you have 20 tracks each with 5 automation tracks which you all want to (time) duplicate and you have to duplicate all automations by some additional effort.

Jumping over (all parallelly) deactivated clips automatically would result in the same (except of not being hidden).

if (for a time slot all clips are deactivated)
{
jump playback cursor from start of deactivation to end of deactivation
}

For those who are interested I added another AutoHotkey automation to my list: .:: ;deactivate/reactivate clip or selected notes { send, !b{up}{up}{up}{up}{up}{up}{up}{enter} return } As far as I could see Vitamin L has a hotkey for clips but not for selected notes. The automation above works with b...

... Anyway, I have a user customizable version in the works, but I'm basically waiting for Live 8 to see if it still works with it. Good to read this, I asked some time ago about the source code mainly out of following reason: If we call the additional features/hotkeys/additions from Vitamin L like...

Do you know any other applications which use your style, meaning (up to zoom in, down to zoom out)? I am just asking out of curiosity.

I am using btw. a mouse wheel operation which works exactly the opposite way which is also more logical to me:

- up to zoom out
- down to zoom in

I am just wondering why you defined it the other way around?

So...is the MackieControll emulator thing working fine under Win XP? And how about latency? This would be something really annoying if there would be some delay when moving the fader. It works, perfectly. (But I tried only with BCR2000, with BCF2000 you can't get all controls into one preset as def...

Re: New scenes (optionally at scene position 1)

So just select the position at which you want to insert a scene before you execute the "capture and insert scene" command, and you will not have to move anything afterwards. This would solve the point 1. from above. I assume you mean I should select e.g. scene 1 by defining a key or midi link to se...
