Re: Ableton Live 8.2

The plugin sticky is not 100% up to date in regards to the IK Multimedia problems (we'll update this asap). We have been able to find the actual cause of these random crashes and have been in contact with IK Multimedia about this. The last thing I've heard from them is that they have acknowledged t...

Re: First Release Candidate for Live 8.1.4: Live 8.1.4b3

Tech support pointed the finger at my plugs-ins as well. Here too. Yet those plug-ins work fine in Live 6 and Cubase... It does feel like blaming plug-ins is all too easy an answer. However, I understand that (in my case at least) they are now talking to the plug-in manufacturer (IK Multimedia) to ...

Never mind. Seems to have been sorted by an upgrade / re-installation.

Automap: Can't change VSTi parameters with 25SL's encoders

I've installed Automap 3, and the Ableton template for controlling Live seems to work fine. If I then press the Automap, Inst and View buttons on my 25SLMkII, the heads-up display for my VSTi appears. And the 25SL screen shows the first 8 parameters. When I turn the pots, or press a button, the rele...

Re: You Do Realize that 8.1.3 still crashes ALL THE TIME???!!?!?

By k'ed, I assume you mean cracked? All my software is completely legitimate. Obviously every set-up is different. So applications need to be able to cater for all sorts of configurations - hardware, OS, drivers, third-party software, etc. But there are so many possible combinations, it's impossible...

Re: You Do Realize that 8.1.3 still crashes ALL THE TIME???!!?!?

Well, in fairness if an individual plug crashes the application it's more than likely the developers issue - I.e. Ik Multimedia. I don't think it's as simple as that... Cubase with SampleTank crashes rarely (if ever). Live 6 with SampleTank crashes rarely (if ever). Live 8 with SampleTank crashes e...

Re: You Do Realize that 8.1.3 still crashes ALL THE TIME???!!?!?

Using too much memory. i would bet my bottom dollar that's your problem. How much system memory are you using, what OS etc? Can I have your bottom dollar then please. ;) It's not a RAM issue. I have 2GB and I'm using about half that. (System specs. in my signature - I'm using XP SP3.) Ableton know ...

Re: You Do Realize that 8.1.3 still crashes ALL THE TIME???!!?!?

Just wanted to politely add my voice to all those experiencing continual crashes with Live 8.1.3 (as well as 8.1.4b2 and previous versions). Live typically crashes every 15 minutes for me. Ableton blames Sampletank. But since Sampletank works fine in both Cubase and Live 6, I'm not entirely convince...

Re: Current Beta Version: Live 8.1.4b2 (updated June 3, 2010)

Same with IK Multimedia Sampletank. I first reported this to Ableton and IK Multimedia about a year ago. Lots of denial and finger pointing, but no real progress. Can you guys please talk to each other and sort this out?

Re: The perfect stand... but....

Im curious how the specs are against the quik lok. Can you adjust the width of the arms? No, and if I put my 25SL on the arms, I can't see the screen or most of the controls! But I'd already decided that I'd probably put it on the top shelf instead, and put my mixer on the arms. However the arms ar...

Re: what's your current lowest latency?

How does Live calculate the displayed latency anyway? With my Echo Audiofire 2, 64 samples gives me 2 x 4.35ms. Shouldn't it be 2 x 1.45? Not that Live is usable with this latency anyway! The 80% CPU tone test suggests I need at least 192 samples (2 x 7.26ms). But it seems that I can get half the la...

Re: The perfect stand... but....

Yeah, I like the integrated shelf on the Studiospares stand. My live rig is basically laptop, 25SL, Launchpad, Yamaha MG102c compact mixer, AudioFire 2. So the 25SL would go on the keyboard arms, and everything else on the top.

Apparently the second set of legs are optional. (You can attach them if you want extra stability.)
