There are a couple of Firewire related hotfixes that are probably worth looking into, e.g. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885222

You could also try ASIO4ALL - that gives me better latency than the native drivers for my soundcard.

Echo Audiofire 2?
Two mono outputs, plus totally independent stereo headphone output.
Works well for me (XP tho').

Thanks for the suggestion. Know someone who knows someone who does installations, so will see if I can pick their brains...

Will check out those mixers too...

Cheers,

Yeah, the mics will be remote - and ideally we'd like to switch all of them together. But sometimes the simplest solution is the best. I'll have a look at Rane's site though, thanks. Fireface is an interesting option. I had wondered whether we'd be able to do something with direct monitoring on an a...

What has 4+ XLR inputs, 4+ XLR outputs, and remote control?

No, it's not a riddle. ;) I'm looking for a device that will enable some simple routing of mic signals in a live context. Really all I need to be able to do is turn mics on and off remotely. A laptop, a suitable audio interface and Live could obviously do it. But I don't want to introduce that sort ...

I've been looking for the perfect laptop stand for ages. Think I'm finally gonna get a couple of the heavy duty stands from insTand- one for my laptop, one for my 25SL.

Even though Elastique Pro is better than 'efficient', it is still not artifact free, it is just a better featured real-time stretch than 'complex'. It is not a quality offline stretch. Ah, I was wondering about that - i.e. whether Elastique Pro would tick both boxes. Shame it doesn't look that way....

Just a belated congratulations to Archangel for putting on a great event. "Mad skills" from many of the performers. And nice to meet you too. 8)

Jez and I will be in touch about later this year (if he hasn't already...)

Echo Audiofire 2.
Not much bigger than a packet of cigarettes and has two stereo outputs (i.e. one pair of mono outputs plus an independent stereo output for headphones).

Thanks, but I don't think so. It seems it's getting stopped in Live before it gets to MIDI Yoke. Live just doesn't seem to be sending the data. And, as above, this wouldn't explain why duplicate values do get sent on CC#0 but do not get sent on any CC. For some reason (either a bug or something I do...

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think so... My 25SL goes directly into Live, and controls Live directly, so I need Remote enabled for the 25SL input. The MIDI data from the 25SL that Live doesn't use directly (channel 3) gets sent out of Live on MIDI Yoke NT 1's output. This then gets translated b...

The way I do this is to have all the MIDI come into Live initially, then I get Live to send some of this MIDI data out again using MIDI Yoke. More details in this post: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90046

Live filters duplicate CC values

Live (6.0.10) seems to filter duplicate values for all MIDI CCs - apart from CC 0. It's probably easiest if I explain this with an example... I have an endless encoder on my Novation 25SL set to CC 0 on channel 3 (Port 1). It's in relative mode such that it always sends a value of 63 when I turn it ...
