Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

Still happening frequently while programming sets. Again, I switch (Alt-Tab) between applications. And when I return to Ableton and mouse over or click anything, it freezes up.

Re: [Live 9 & Live 10] Cannot remove a Control Surface

On Mac the Remote Script folder is located inside the Ableton Live application bundle. To access it, locate the Live application in Finder, right click on it and select "Show Package Content" in the appearing context menu. Then navigate to: /Contents/App-Resources/MIDI Remote Scripts/ 2. Rather tha...

[Live 9 & Live 10] Cannot remove a Control Surface

I have a Control Surface that was configured and used a long time ago. Since then, I no longer use my Roland A-800 Pro as a control surface. Only as a MIDI controller. For a while now in Live 9 and now in Live 10, I remove the Control Surface entries and they keep coming back. I go to preferences / ...

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

This all makes sense why it doesn't happen during live performances. I don't toggle applications then. Strictly stay on Ableton Live App screen.
Tonight I'm going to see if it's Chrome ONLY, or any app. Hence, when Ableton is in the background.

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

Now frequently reproducible! I have my large Live set loaded... working away. Switch a Chrome browser to view something on the web. Come back to Live. As soon as I touch anything, it freezes with a spinning beach ball. I do this action often. I wasn't aware when I started this thread that it was hap...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

Between listening to your mix real time in Live verses listening to a bounced down mix can be drastically different based on the Export settings.
Do you have "Normalize" checked?
What dithering are you using?
What are the other settings in your Export Audio/Video dialog?

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

Just out of curiosity, how does Live perform using the internal sound card? Not bad. A bit higher CPU usage, and much higher latency. I guess the question was "does it hangs when you're using the internal sound car?" It has never locked up while using only Built In Core Audio. I don't do that much....

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

so where i was going with the story was... have you "rebooted" (completely powered down) the interface in a while? this might take unplugging the USB cable to complete properly. I power down nightly. Yet, you do give me an idea. Next time it locks up, I'll unplug the interface and see what happens.

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

Is it possible for a faulty audio interface (MOTU MicroBook II), or faulty USB cable connecting the audio interface to be the cause of GUI lockups?
Because when performing live connected to my Behringer X Air XR18, with a completely different heavier USB cable, all is good for hours.

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

As I'm typing this, the Live GUI is frozen. Beach Ball. Time Machine has been disabled all afternoon. The song is still playing, just cannot interact with the GUI. Very odd. Currently CPU = 17% . Memory 3.5 GB used . Force Quit... Reloaded Set. Watching Activity Monitor... Went to reorder Scenes, St...

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

One of my friends recently had big issues with Live due to loading a timemachine backup onto a new MB from his old Mac, is was only Live that was giving him trouble. Don't suppose you did anything like that recently? Your response does make me curious if TimeMachine is kicking off. If it's doing th...

have you looked at Activity Monitor to get a sense of your CPU and RAM consumption?

are you running Live in 32 bit or 64 bit? and how much RAM do you have?
16GB Ram, Running Live 64bit
