I can't wait for the release... that BCR2000 will be mine! Oh yes, it will be! (as my GF sighs about being left for row after row of beautiful, shiny encoders)

Yeah, that's really a good idea... and cheers to the BPM envelope idea - or at least you should be able to choose from a few different vectors to get from tempo A to tempo B. We've been inserting blank scenes with a label of "90 bpm" or whatever and then using that as our cue to change the tempo man...

I used a lot of gear, i used a lot of software but with live and (rewired)reason i am more productive and more creative than ever! I can do everything i want. This is exactly my experience. I can start from scratch and the Live click, improvise a bit on synth and loop that, fire up reason in slave ...

What about us Windows losers? :)

Is there any way to get ahold of these in a format more Windows-friendly?

I use the crossfader for slapping in and out the wet/dry signal from my sends. All the channels sends are "pre" fader. I assign all channels to A on the crossfader, and all effect send busses to B. Quite fun.
Hey, has anyone posted that to the "tips and tricks" forum? good stuff!

FCB-1010 - mostly OT

locash- When I first got the FCB-1010 I had no idea what I was going to use it for - I just had a huge income tax refund and wanted to buy useful music gear. I bought it at the same time as my drum machine (Zoom RT-323, not particularly great...) and synth (Korg MS2000, frickin kickass). I started o...

Another inspired user :)

This really is an awesome thread. Count me in as a new Live DJ :) I've started throwing together a Live set with some ripped CD tracks. So far I have some Shpongle, Eat Static, Fischerspooner, Ozric Tentacles, Wagon Christ, and one of my originals in there. Definitely a lot of fun! I have a dream of...

The trouble with triggles

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Bring on Triggle mode! It would make 100% improvised sets that much easier. In the absence of triggle mode, here's how I do it - I set up two MIDI keys for each clip i want to record into. one for its slot button and one for the STOP button for that clip's trac...

Red Sub

Wow, those Red Sub notebooks look like great bang-for-buck. I configured one with DVD-R, 1GB RAM, a 7200RPM 80GB drive and an Echo Layla laptop audio interface and still came in under $2500.

Anyone actually use one of those things? I am starting the long process of shopping :)

Patch changes

Hmm... someone recently mentioned Bome's MIDI translator as a workaround for no MIDI mappability to the DELETE key. Your idea of using Program Change messages to trigger scenes in combination with Bome's to translate the messages to keystrokes (mapped to scene fire buttons) ought to do the trick. ht...
