Re: What can we expect with X?

To add to that list: -More clip fade options like having clip fades always on -Full screen mixer -Customizable Toolbar -MP3 export -Fully customizable key commands -Scroll to zoom Not be an expensive upgrade, I'm not paying another $300 for an upgrade. If so its bye bye Abes. Ableton, your not Apple!

Re: Feature request that has been ignored for over 6 years

I would be content with a more stable/faster software experience at this point. 9.6 has been great so far but it still takes a while to load things, and still lags when running many midi instruments. I would like to see multi-touch support like Bitwig. Bounce in place would be nice as well and more ...

Re: Making use of old computers?

I have an old computer as well that I was using for an HTPC setup but I just use an Xbox360 for streaming which uses much less power. My thought was to use it as a vst/sound design machine only and just send the wav files over to my main machine. This would help separate the workflows and hopefully ...

Re: How to add a 3rd monitor?

I have used a Chromecast with screen mirroring for a third monitor and it works OK, a tiny bit of lag but it's usable.

Re: Is using synth presets 'cheating'?

I find switching through presets and tweaking settings all while recording helps with inspiration so I dont feel its cheating. I have followed many tutorials by well known producers where they just cycle through presets while recording and then cut out the audio files and piece it where they think i...

Show clip fades always on?

Is there a way to have the clip fades on all the time? I do a lot of micro editing of audio files and am really sick of hitting ctrl-shft-F. I'm willing to go down the hacky route if needed.

Re: Ms surface pro 4 and Ableton?

If you want to have touch support switch to Bitwig. They added features just for this purpose and used a Surface Pro 3 to demo it. If Ableton doesn't jump on multi-touch in 10 I think I'm going to ditch it and go for Bitwig. Being able to write tunes on the couch, in bed, in the car, on a train, pla...

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?

Just to chime in here - I use an RME Fireface 400, which I love. I got a Lenovo thinkpad back in 2012 and I use an Expresscard with a TI chip to connect it to the FF400. The expresscard connection is very flimsy and although I have not experienced disconnects in a live situation, I reckon it will h...

Re: Ableton serously?! Library erased after launch of 9.6 !

Try right clicking on Ableton and launch as Administrator. The permissions in Windows 10 are all messed up for me for some reason and I have to manually go in to settings and tell Windows that I have Admin rights. Although if the files are indeed missing I cant help you there. I have never had Ablet...

Re: EQ8: Serious issues with Bass. Here is the proof.

C is a normal note in Bass music? I thought E was the lowest most producers go as that is what most sound systems can accurately reproduce. I think even a Function 1 setup only goes down to 40hz before the bass drops off.

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?

Bad news, my firewire chipset isnt TI and isnt compatible with Focusrite drivers. Interesting how I paid top dollar for a laptop from ADK only to find out they used a crap chipset for the firewire port. All is well though, I planned on switching to Apple for my next system anyway. Microsoft still ma...

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?

Thanks for the replies guys. Good tip on the chipset type, I believe my chipset is TI but will re-check. The port on my laptop is a mini FireWire port so its already 400. The one thing that sucks is it doesn't supply power so I would have to use the wall wort with any interface on that output. I hav...

Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?

I'm in the market for a new interface, and have been eyeing the Focusrite Saffire 14 as it has virtual routing capabilities that no other company has in this price range. I have noticed for the price the firewire interfaces are much cheaper for the amount of I/O's and features you get compared to th...
