I don't think they are running scared, and I have the utmost confidence in their ability to straighten out R3. However, the latest version of Project 5 from Cakewalk is defintiely going to give them some competition. I am still learning the ins and outs of P5, but it is way cool.

ReWire is a solid protocol, and Reason 2.5 ReWires to Live very well. Reason 3.0 has some issues (see the propellerheads website for details), but the update is in a public beta testing phase right now, so these issues will soon be history.

With respect to the PC platform, I think Live is in the upper echelon of sequencer apps if you are rating them by stability. While it pains me to say it, Live is more stable than my beloved Cubase SX 3.
