Tad, to me is an example of how the talent VS the machinery of the industry locks you out. The man is heavy, and so is his music, but in this time and place, fat ain't happening on MTV. You have to sell an image as well as a musical package. Anyway I understand the sentiment of what you're saying, ...

in live 7 you are able to do this.
right click on a sample and select 'edit info text'. when you hover over the sample the text is displayed in the place where the help menu usually is.
Are you a 'plant' to highlight the new features of Live 7 ?

the albeit limited test i have done with vista lead me to believe it is way too resource hungry for my meagre Dual core with 2gb ram. vista is hungry hungry hungry. Also with XP Lite you can massively reduce oodles of peripheral bollocks that comes with an os. i don't want the instruction manual in ...

works best if you spend a bit of time tweaking automap yourself in the editor, and assigning a template for each soft synth / hard synth / vst you use.

Re: Why not Linux?

Because linux isnt really that great for audio i am typing this on Gutsy gibbon ubuntu , and linux is all well and good if you want to browse the internet or do some word processing, but you try and get an echo indigo ...

hey guy cross, one method is to get your hands on a midi controller keyboard. then create each of your sample loops, click on the midi tab and assign each note on the keyboard to a specific loop. hitting the key will then trigger the loop (or one shot depending on how you set it up) and hitting the ...

for what its worth I once succeeded in mounting monitors in a 'screen' of mdf and laminate... sounds irrelevant, but there c(sh)ould be four small threaded inserts on the back of the monitor (for attaching to one of those swivel arms). They would take an M4 bolt. you could then make a mount out of a...

I can see how scissors would would be faster in the case of doing hundreds of micro edits. But even, then (!) there's going to be those times that it's much quicker to just draw in clip envelopes with the pencil tool and drag a couple of your vertical lines left or right if need be. (So, pencil too...

yeah i know command + e, but right click scissors tool would be nice.. boohoo I never understand this request. Switching back and forth to scissors tool isn't any quicker than just pressing command + e. The worst part is, you've got to go back and forth to a silly "toolbox" which wastes valuable sc...
