Re: New Seattle Group

Hey guys,

I can't make it this time (It's my wedding anniversary), but wanted to let everyone know I'm following the thread and will join in when I can.

How's that sound?
First half is pretty booked for me, but I can catch you all next time. Good to see a group getting going again.

Re: 25 or 49 key controller?

I say "One of each!"

Seriously, I have both, but one advantage of the larger that hasn't been mentioned (at least if you're talking Axiom) is sliders and buttons to go with them. The 49 has faders that the 25 doesn't. So, more controls are immediately available.

Re: New Seattle Group

...Just the indomitable Tarekith and one grom (all due respect), in Seattle? Wow... Really? Haha!(I'm tired of LOL) No offense taken. Definitely new in this game. I had to look up "grom," even. However, neither young nor good at this yet. Would be fun to hang out and learn. Evenings are good for me...

Re: New Seattle Group

I'm not to the level where you'd learn much from me, but I'd be interested in learning and hanging out when my schedule allows.

Re: clavinet

ableton's Tension does a great job at that... Also Native Instruments have a pianet/Clavinet sample pack... Yeah, I forgot to say I was looking for VERY cheap or free. If I had Suite, I would look no further. FWIW, I'm trying out: KORG Legacy Collection (came with my Triton a few years ago) Fab Fil...

Re: clavinet

I'd be interested in this, too. I've been using several cheaper synth VSTs, with auto-wah, delay, reverb plugins. Still would like something specializing in the clav sound.

Re: Will it work with Windows 7?

Yes, it works great. Just runs as a 32 bit app, but no problems.

I had problems at first (new HP laptop from Costco) but just recently got an auto-update that apparently has fixed all. Now, it's zooming right along, with no issues.

Oh, this is great. I really did laugh out loud. Glad someone else does this stuff once in a while.

Re: New and confused

Did you have a version of Live before your ver 8 demo? If not, the problem could be that you're starting with an upgrade version when you really need a regular version.

Re: Sample

If you use the Live browser to drag the original sample into one of the Live devices (Impulse, Simpler, Sampler) it brings in a copy. So you should be able to use that one sample in several spots. NOTE: You must leave the original where it is when you do the dragging or Live will not be able to find...

Re: Pre-que or Play before bar

I think you have to include the bar before. Haven't found a way to do pick-up notes otherwise.

Sounds like you might need to adjust the audio buffer size, in Preferences.

Is this true in Live 7, too? I thought Groove Pool was new in Live 8.
