All warp modes except 'Re-Pitch' are essentially Master Tempo. If the songs are properly warped, you will be able to change the tempo of Live without affecting the pitch. (You'll also be able to change the pitch of the song manually through the Transpose function.)

Actually, look in the MIDI tab of your preferences window. Check to see if the 'remote' box for the MPD16 is active.

If it's not, click it and see if you can control a slider or a button on the interface with the MPD.

Sorry, there's no distributed-processing-over-network in Live. You could move audio files between computers using freezing, but that's really a workaround.

But! If you do get a Mac Mini, and it's dual-core, there's a good chance it'll be more than 2X more powerful than your current G4.

I ordered a Shrimp Teriyaki Bento Box for lunch today.

Ignoring the obvious fact that such a thing doesn't really belong in traditional Japanese cuisine, I have to admit that my ordering decision was most likely subliminally affected by this thread.

Behold the power of Endless Shrimp...

I have a pair of SR 60s and while they sound very good, they are very uncomfortable. I can only used them for maybe 45min at the most and at that point my ears really hurt. To answer your question, they cover my ears so YMMV. I had the same issue with my SR325i cans. I found that if you place them ...

To the thread starter: are you running the most recent version of Live? I think an earlier point release (6.04, maybe 6.05) was having issues with the rendering of tempo changes from the Arrangement View. We've since fixed that, and are at 6.010.

My problem is this software! There is just no way to save on this version whether demo mode or not. It says all over the place that I can save, but it will only save as an .als file unless I render to disk and then the only thing it will save is myfilename.wav.asd or in messing with setting I got i...

another tip - when you map the BPM, map it in reverse if you're a DJ. (ie: 140-80 instead of 80-140)

That way, it'll behave like a traditional DJ pitch slider.

The limitation is for plug-in instruments. You can have up to 8 instances of Simpler/Impulse in addition to the 2 externals.

Click the red 'listen' link to hear an excerpt. What do the vocals say? I can make out some of it, it's kind of hilarious.

If you're on Live 6, much of the can be accomplished without 3rd party software using an Effects Rack and the Chain Selector.
