like was said in the other thread, you'll need a separate preamp - PCMCIA devices, while great, are in the shadow of USB/Firewire interfaces, so other than RME and Echo Audio, there's not much to pick from.

I've seen your ads on many NYC music messageboards, and I've heard a lot of good stuff about your courses from satisfied customers. Too bad you had to go and ruin your reputation by participating in a petty flame war. Sheesh. Where? Links please. if he's the same guy I'm thinking about he's been ar...

They are all scams.... Without exception.
Why do you say that?

Would http://www.1and1.com be one of these mainstream "scam" hosts?

I'm not well-versed in this, but I think latency is going to be a very big issue for ya. Maybe the techier people can help elaborate.

AdamJay, get ready for your host to get hammered (Remix Mag)

Just read a review of Operator in Remix magazine - the reviewer offers up a link to the Covert Operator's patches.... from your domain.

Hope you knew it was coming! :)

Great idea AdamJay.

Trolls have a pretty low life expectation around these parts. This forum is self-sustaining. We're all old and ugly enough to take care of ourselves and this forum. Thats pretty much Ableton's standpoint on this issue. (i think) Show me a troll that can survive the smart-asses on this forum...... F...

and AdamJay, don't quesiton my skills. AdamJay's too classy to get embroiled in this mess, but I believe that was uncalled for. As someone who's been on this forum for a few months, I've come to regard his opinion on Live PA and Ableton Live as much as the Ableton programmers themselves. So please,...

If you're really interested in a complete history of DJing, check out "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life," by Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton. Scratch is a great DVD, but its intention never was to tell the history of DJing in general, only a specific segment of it. Great book. http://www.djhistory.co...

Re: My 2 cents

There is an overabundance of everything these days. . . . The future is so full of possibilities. Yet for many of us, we are so conditioned and brainwashed by our peers and environment that we choose to ignore them in order to close ranks with the other sheep. D. If there is such a thing as a "perf...

However, DJing your own tracks is very different from playing someone else's tracks, in the same way that playing your own songs on an instrument is very different from playing someone else's songs. OK, I gotcha. We're coming from very different perspectives here, so I think it takes some explainin...

I disagree with this: What you do not learn is anything about SELF EXPRESSION. And I think you prove my point with this statement: In a covers band, or as a DJ, you do not write the music, you only choose it and present it. Albeit there is skill in doing this, the same way that there is skill in wor...
