Re: Weird Q: how to make a constant, inaudible (high pitch) tone
Sorry, quick question: I tried putting it all the way across a simple MIDI loop, and it seems to beat with each repeat -- apart from making the MIDI loop very long, is there some setting in Operator that would eliminate the beat? Thanks again...

Weird Q: how to make a constant, inaudible (high pitch) tone
Hi all, here's a weird one... I'd like to try patching the audio out from my mixer into a camera with a mic-in jack. It turns out the camera has a "feature" called AGC (automatic gain control) that automatically changes levels. So for example, at quiet times it cranks the gain and I get hi...

Re: Simple routing question
You can always you return tracks as "master" channels Set the output of the return to a physical output, This gives you a bit more flexiblity since you can decide what you send to each channel I use to do this for different headphone mixes while tracking with friends Hey, thanks! Ok, so n...

Re: Simple routing question
every audio track has a drop down box to select where that track's output goes. make two audio tracks. set their inputs to Master. set their outputs to different outputs, 3/4 or 5/6. leave Master alone set to go out 1/2. Hey thanks, neat idea! Given they'll wind up over with the music tracks -- is ...

Simple routing question
Hi all, My computer interface shows up in Live with three output choices: 1/2 is the Main Out to my monitors, 3/4 is the Phones Out, and 5/6 is a Line Out (which I sometimes send to a video camera's Line In). Is there a "correct" way to send Live's output to all of them at the same time? T...

Good ways to tap tempo with MIDI keyboard keys?
Hi all,
I've been trying to map a MIDI keyboard key for use with Tap Tempo -- I was thinking I'd like to try tapping tempos via the keys themselves.
Is there a good way to do this? eg, can the mapped key "revert" back to being a normal key (non-tap-tempo) after the tempo is set?

Re: More than one Master Out?
Thanks for that -- but I think perhaps I'm not asking the right question. My computer interface shows up with three output choices: 1/2 is the Main Out to my monitors, 3/4 is the Phones Out, and 5/6 is the Line Out (which I sometimes send to a video camera's Line In). Is there a "correct" ...

Re: More than one Master Out?
Sorry, I'm still pretty green with this.
If I want the Master Out to go to both "1/2" and "3/4" what's the way to do that?
Thanks kindly!

More than one Master Out?
Hi all, I'm still getting up to speed so I'm probably missing something obvious -- that said, any help is much appreciated... My USB computer interface/mixer has independent main/phones/line outputs -- and each shows up as a separate selection in Live's Master Output dropdown menu. How can I get Liv...

Re: Quick flipping through MIDI drum loops?
Can you preview them in the browser? I don't remember.. Not as far as I can tell. You can "click here to play" it, which is at least something (but I can't just keep clicking through them without having to click "click here to play" each time) -- but the real problem is that I c...

Quick flipping through MIDI drum loops?
Hi all,
If I have a bunch of MIDI drum loop .mid's in my Library, is there a simple way to quickly flip through them (with, say, a Live Drum Rack Kit playing them)?
As it is now, it seems I have to drag each into a Session clip.
Thanks for any suggestions...

Re: Starting off without a tempo?
Hey Angstrom, thank you! A question: is there not a way to record a segment and then find a loop within it *before* you try to assign the BPM? My tempo isn't clock-solid, so I can't really tap a tempo to match (it'll drift). Here's what I think I'd like to do: 1) record segment 2) drag crop in/out m...

Re: Starting off without a tempo?
I might be missing something, but it doesn't look like you can record into Looper and then -- as another step -- crop out the section you want to loop.
If anybody has any tips on how to go about it, I'd be grateful!
