Re: How do you Delete Automation Points without Audio

In Live 9, I believe you can click the "+" button to add that parameter as another automation lane. Then, you can select all the points and delete in the new lane.

Re: Vocal Recording Signal Too Low (help please)

hey caspy So you say However I can solo my recorded audio and it sounds fine. It’s like the instrumental is way to loud. I can also turn the gain up on my NI Komplete Audio 6 interface, but there comes a point on the knob, I can’t turn it any higher because it picks up every background sound possibl...

Re: audio interfaces

I had issues on this with Yosemite and High Sierra. The ultralite mk4 has "AVB" type functionality in that you can control it over wifi on the web interface but isn't branded AVB i don't believe. Someone else just told me they were really impressed with the Presonus Quantum. gonna look more into that!

Re: starting external video-files from session-view

i think resolume is pretty scalable and kind of runs plugins as needed so can serve as a simple playback device and be as light as you need it, but i'm not so familiar. if you don't need to trigger the videos on the fly with session clips on the first computer then using Link to play back videos on ...

Re: starting external video-files from session-view

hey, I haven't explored these kind of setups in a long time but a lot of my video and VJ friends use a program called Resolume.

I imagine you could set up what you describe using only MIDI pretty easily.

Re: audio interfaces

You don't mention anything about the computer you're using the MOTU with, or what latency / buffer size you're using. Have you tried the MOTU on other computers? Have you adjusted latency? In other words are you sure it's the MOTU that's the issue? thanks for the thoughts. Yes indeed. multiple comp...

hi guys, i've had so much trouble with my motu ultralite mk4. i'm on my second one that motu sent me and it crashes all the time and there is distortion and crackling. i've spent a year exhaustively troubleshooting this with motu and their support isn't able to fix it and i've just spent too much ti...

Re: FAILSAFE backing up advice

what i mean is that backblaze backup service is not the same as a cloud storage. just that when you retrieve your backups, should you need them, they take a few minutes to prepare to download from backblaze.

your data gets backed up automatically in the background and requires no other action

Re: FAILSAFE backing up advice

backblaze is truly unlimited everything for one price and continuously backs up files in real time as they are changed or created. edit Arq looks sick. although costs extra beyond 1 TB or works with existing cloud storage it seems. A caveat of backblaze is that it isn't like cloud storage, backups h...

Re: Dithering?

So the audio that was imported was still 16 bit but my ableton is set to record at 24 Bit. The audio is not being recorded, so do I still have to adjust this parameter down from 24 bit to 16 bit if I am just bouncing with no effects at all other than the fades in the clips? I.e. should I switch it ...

Re: FAILSAFE backing up advice

I don't believe projects are saved in the Abelton folder by default, not on mac anyway. So you'd have to back up wherever you are saving your projects. Btw if you want complete idiot proof peace of mind for backup I use an online service called Backblaze. It's automated online backup of all your dat...

Re: AudioUnits vs VSTs?

hey,

over the years I've observed that VSTs seems to be more stable and cause fewer strange issues. so at a certain point I switched to using VSTs.

I have no idea what the technical reasons for this may be but that is my anecdotal experience.

Re: Reverb plug in for Dub Techno?

+1 for Eventide Black Hole. just great. would fit dub techno vibe super well i believe.

I also use soundtoys little plate a lot. It is a plate sound but decay can be extended way long. AU and no dongle
