Re: push/pull tempo warp

you can also name a scene "x bpm", and when the scene is launched, the global tempo will change to x.

Re: getting new simpler to behave like the old one as default

thanks for the suggestion --

however this only results in the default simpler mode being set to "classic", which is a start, but the default setting is still with "loop" and "warp" on, even though the simpler I dragged into this folder location had these options disabled.

any ideas?

thanks

getting new simpler to behave like the old one as default

hi, forgive me if I'm missing something here. I want the new simpler to behave like the old one by default. a common workflow for me is to drag a bunch of one shot drum hits into a drum rack. i need full adsr envelopes for all the instances of simpler that would be created for these samples. i also ...

Re: question about strange frequency/db difference of warp modes

i have noticed this phenomenon as well, it also seems unpredictable to me as when the meter is apparently clipping it doesn't SOUND clipped, nor is it necessarily during relatively hot parts of the track. sometimes it will clip at the very beginning of triggering a clip. the highest quality, most or...

Re: Apple bigger than Microsoft

Seems to me, In a way, it's to be expected. Except for the xbox and some user interface devices, Microsoft isn't in the hardware business. Apple makes a lot more money on the sale of a Mac than Microsoft does on a copy of Windows, even though they sell a lot fewer of them. Not to mention ipods, pads...

cell phone headache

Hi guys, I assume many people on these forums are travellers, either as djs or because you like to travel or whatever, so I thought I would present this conundrum to the Ableton community. I spend half of the year in Montreal and the other half in California. It has become a real hassle dealing with...

Re: Copy Paste of asl. Documents

maybe i misunderstood what you guys are trying to do, but you can grab tracks of other live sets by viewing the .als file in the ableton browser. (as in, navigate to the actual location of the .als file on your disk with the ableton browser.) you can open them up as if it was a folder and see every ...

Re: New Macbook Pro I5 and I7 Processor

also if you are running a core duo, i mean that is not really ancient now, is it? you might want to try reinstalling OS X to see if Live performs better ..... mac users don't have to do this very often but a while ago my macbook pro core 2 duo was acting up in all kinds of ways. a reinstall of Leopa...

Re: being accused of not being a "real DJ" with Ableton

hooooooookay. when recordings came out, bands got very upset. hey! these little wax plates are taking our work! it's not "real" music! and they complained when DJing became a nightlife staple too. hey! it's just a dude playing wax plates! it's not real at all! and then vinyl DJs complained when CDs...

Re: being accused of not being a "real DJ" with Ableton

I do respect those who have had the experience of beatmatching on vinyls in a crowded club with shitty monitors and all, but again as several other people have commented, if you can eliminate that element of risk/fucking up, why not do it? I believe you should take advantage of technology. the othe...

being accused of not being a "real DJ" with Ableton

The other day I finished playing a dj set to a packed club, I got a huge response out of this crowd and was feeling generally really excellent. 2 hour set and I'm exhausted. As usual there are a few people interested in what's going on behind the decks and this one guy comes up to me to ask me about...

Live 8 is really unstable.

I just spent the last 6 hours on a track, saving RELIGIOUSLY, every couple of minutes. Ableton just crashed (it does so frequently, which is why I've become so save-wary). I think "no problem", since i've been saving so much, but lo and behold, when I open up my file (by the way, I never get any kin...
