Well, they did get to use Live for quite some time, didn't they? But I guess that's worth nothing.

I like the new, grey GUI. Certainly better than the beta one.

I heard they stopped making them, to focus on the more successful '26. Don't know if it's true, but availability seems low worldwide anyway.

^^Not sure what you guys are talking about..... Mono and legato modes seem to work fine for me. Also all text boxes work fine. The thing is that it, unlike every other synth, doesn't "remember" held keys. If you hold one key down, and repeatedly play another, the pitch should alternate be...

Nice. Not much new compared to the beta, though. Mono mode is still only half-implemented.
But, nice nonetheless.

I have a IO26. Overall, it's good (and very robust physically), but it has a few issues. Sometimes, when i wake my MBP up from sleep, the interface doesn't seem to wake up with it. Unplugging and replugging it helps, but is a bit of a nuisance. Also, whenever some program begins to hog the cpu (most...

Solid state drives are already available. Still kinda expensive, but if you don't need a big one they should be in the "buyable" prize category.

I'm not sure what good an MPC is live, except for pad-whacking sample trigging.

Same here... I just thought that automap does not use the pads. For that matter, Automap also does not seem to use the rotary pots (second row) but only the encoders on top. Is that correct? Correct. You can use Ableton's midi learn function to assign functions to the pots and pads. But then of cou...

A serious sample library (or physical modeling instrument) shouldn't use velocity to control how loud (as in how "hard" you play) a non-percussion instrument is anyway. The more rational choice would be to use the modulation wheel or an expression pedal - or breath controller (the obvious ...

If it had sensible modulation options (mod wheel, aftertouch etc) it would be great. As it is, it's only OK.

What about this "new" SH-201? topic: SH-201, go. It's pretty lame, from what I understand. A toy version of the JP-8000 (which is a bit of a modern classic). Anyway, back to the 101. For the (kind of outrageous) money they go for, I'd pick an SH-2 instead. No sequencer, but 2 oscillators ...

Should not be any problem (as long as you have the plugins on both installs or bounce down to audio, as mentioned above). AFAIK, XP cannot (by default) access the OSX partition (OSX can access the XP partition freely if it's FAT32, but if it's NTFS it's read-only), so You'll either have to make a FA...

I'm pretty sure You cannot split the suite. Also: yes, if You sell the whole thing the buyer will have to prove he/she is a student as well.

The mpd makes no sound whatsoever of its own, it only controls software (and midi hardware). What you want is probably something more like a mpc500.

There there. Less talk about pricing plans, more talk about apps, please. There is this nice ear training app (15USD or something, free demo available) that I think I'm going to get (for my Touch). If I commuted I would get it for sure, but now I'm living within walking distance of university, so I'...
