Draggers vs. set-freaks

What kind of user are you? Do you start your live performances with an (almost) empty set or use a huge, carefully planned set? I wrote a little article about these two main types of Live users after a discussion at Create Digital Music . Check it out: http://www.geradorzero.com/2007/05/04/ableton-l...

fzero - I may have missed something with your rack - I tried something similar myself. It does work and probably doesn't make much difference in a performance situation, but I was looking for something which sweeps the whole spectrum as a low pass on one side of the knob (MIDI 0-63) and then sweeps...

I've just made one! I actually used EQ-8 to create the rack, but it sounds exactly like a sweep filter. It also uses much less CPU than another rack someone posted here. There's even an additional (and optional) second knob to crank up the resonance. http://geradorzero.com/stuff/single_knob_filter.z...

Well, they must be very accomplished masturbators.

Apart from that, I like the good ones - those who can beat juggle and KEEP THE RHYTHM. Lots of turntablists think they can do this, but fuck up all the time thinking they're hot.

They're not.

Re: Position Line ahead with Delay Compensation on

[Live 6.0.1] Today I had a hard time visually following what I was hearing, only to find out that when Delay Compensation is switched on, the Position Line (or Play Marker or whatever you call it) was moving way ahead of what was being played back. Shouldn't the Position Line show you exactly the p...

Clips and sets losing warp/loop/cue infos (Beta 8)

This is a bit weird as it doesn't always happen. 1. Bring a MP3 to the session. 2. Adjust the warping on the clip. 3. Make copies of the clip to define cue points, loops etc. 4. Drag the edited clips to the directory where the original MP3 is, creating a project directory containing the clips/live s...

Soooo, I just discovered it was my bad. It was a folder permission problem! I had copied the MP3 files from a DVD-R backup and that made the read-only bit on the folder stay as "on".

I should have checked it. Sorry for the post.

Hi fzero, so far we cannot reproduce it. - Can you find this "gone" Project folder with these .alc clips in the trash? No, the folders (I created more than one, and in different places) were really gone, unfortunately. I looked in the trashcan hoping to find them. - Before you exit Live, can you ma...
