Live 6.0.2 Beta 8: Dissappearing clips (FALSE ALARM! SORRY!)

UPDATE: I've just discovered it was my fault. Sorry! I did this several times yesterday, so we can call this reproductible. 1. Load an mp3 in the session view 2. Make some changes... adjust the bpm matching, put some warp markers etc. 3. Drag the clip to the file pane. Live creates a project...

The name of the track is "Think", but I can't remember the name of the band. I remember there's a woman singing in the original.

That depends a lot on how you set thing up, really. You can record everything separated and make them loop while you play something else on top. I sometimes record five different sounds live and keep them looping, each one in a different channel. The main concept in Live is that you can make everyth...

Re: still not getting my brain around Live

thanks...that sounds like good advice.... would i be triggering these clips and recording (or re-sampling) them into a new clip ?... i play with small samples, the longest would be maybe 3-4 seconds.. You could do that, but you can also record the session while you're playing... the result will sho...

Re: still not getting my brain around Live

i import my own samples into Reason..i dont use refills or factory sound bank..my style is more like choped quarter and sixteenth notes and drum hits.. and i play them however i want..no 'loops' Since you use samples, it seems to me that you could simply dicth Reason and do everything with Live. Yo...

Hi, there is no known problem with dragging mp3 files to Live, making crash the application. Does it happen with one specific mp3? If so, can you send it to me at amaury@ableton.com? Kind regards, Amaury Sorry, I didn't make this bit clear: it's not all MP3s that crash live, but a good number of th...

Dragging sets with MP3 into the session crash Live 6

This bug is ALWAYS reproductible on both of my computers. Step by step: 1. Open Live 2. Drag a set containing a MP3 into the session 3. Live starts analyzing the files (it ALWAYS analyzes, even if there's already an .als file) 4. Crash When I open the offending sets directly they work... the problem...

I'm having a similar problem! I never used any program to mess with ID3 tags, but Live seems to be re-analyzing my MP3s every time I drag them into the session - and, yes, some MP3s make the program crash instantly. This is a HUGE problem to me because my whole set is improvised on spot, dragging fi...

Yes, it has.

just curious, people used to say to never use AMD/Via for audio. has this changed? Sure. In fact Pentium 4 is much, much worse than Athlon XP, Sempron and AMD 64. Intel put itself together again with Pentium M, Core Duo and Core 2 Duo, but anything before that was a complete disaster. Pentium D and...

Re: playing ableton at a live show.

i've had 2 shows but i noticed what i tend to do is play my original songs one by one. so my transition is just a big pause between my loading of my next ableton file. it's kind of newbish. =/. what would you guys do? I used to have the same problem, but live itself provides a solution (at least if...

My bet after recording lots and lots of guitar using different interfaces: check your cables and the guitar jack. 99% chance the problem is there. Proper insulation generally nails it.

You can also try to run it trough a mixer, but the ideal setup involves a DI box (ever tried a V-Amp or POD?).
