Re: Only 5% of downloaded music is paid for

Haha people in my social circle called me a loser when I left my studio engineer job in 2001 and got a proper office based job. They thought they would be able to make music full time, sit in the studio and smoke blunts and get paid £3000 for a electronic/dance EP. They thought "yeah we could easily...

Re: bbe sonic maximizer... what is it?

I use the plug in on my master bus. I only use 1.25 on the lows and highs. it adds a bit of fairy dust. my master chain goes like this:-

UAD 4K Buss Compressor
Cambridge EQ
Sonic Maximiser
PSP Vintage Warmer
Precision Limiter

WAGS do demand alot of their man's time. 'The Relationship' is always No 1 on their list of priorities.

Having friends with benefits is the way to go.

Re: DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

Tough choice, you can easily pick up massive for under 100 bucks, whereas DCAM will cost 250. Massive can get close to many DCAM timbres for straight up VA stuff, but DCAM has many cool tricks and an amazing interface, and Massive can do lots DCAM can't. How important is amber - the string machine ...

Re: DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

Cool. I did notice that one of the sylenth demo tracks (made by a techno producer) used 6 instances of sylenth and only had a 20% hit on his CPU!

FXpansion say that they haven't got the resources in place to sort out a demo but to me this is fundamental when deciding on a new soft synth.

Re: DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

I just listened to the sylenth demo songs on their website and wasn't that impressed. Just sounds like a decent subtractive synth to me. Downloaded the demo and will have a play tonight though. It's madness that FXpansion haven't created a demo for DCAM!?!

Re: DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

Buying both would be like having 4 girlfriends. Buying DCAM would be like having three... I like Massive, but with DCAM, you get three for the price of one. You also get a nice dedicated FM synth, slightly more accessible UIs and Fusor for serious sound design. I reckon you just get more creative f...

DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

I just can't decide which one to go for. I like things about both. BUT only want to buy one and get to know everything about it. Buying both would be like having 2 girlfriends. eg time consuming and a bit too tiring.

What do you guys think?

Re: Contoling Linear Volume Curves

No I just want to set the release with a user curve and leave it. You know like the drum & bass boys do with in cubase with their audio one shot drum WAVs.
