coming from a 'band' usage (as opposed to dj/ electro thing) I think there needs to be some better solution. The current solutions sort-of work for this situation... but are by no means great if you want midi control of scenes with a large number of songs at your disposal on the one live .set

ah yes, i can see that it would work fine for many people, but not all. :-)

I just secretly pray that ableton has a neat song management system under the christmas tree for us. 8)

this is something which hopefully the ableton crew are working on.. it's a very big problem (and you'll understand why as you get more and more songs in your repetoire) It's not a problem at all. One of my sets has almost 500 scenes in it, each with its own tempo. I can access and launch any scene ...

well, the easiest way as a powerbook user is just to use the built in osx app Quartz composer. I was just going to trigger some simple textures etc using midi and quartz composer.

I had considered a vid projector, but thought that it might be not worth the hassle... but even a crappy one would be ok, (doesnt have to be in focus etc)

Is there any new light-technology around? is it worth doing? please share. :) (my band was thinking 2-5 lamps, not...

so now i am confused. is the Z series better?

the double x series seems the way to go. is this correct?

I'm looking for something which is fast. It doesn't have to hold a lot of weight. (maybe 10 kg)
