PA/ personal speaker reccomendations

Hi all! Well my band is really rocking these days, and I need some sort of PA for myself in the band. The band lineup is keys, drums, bass, vox and me doing electro stuff (beat triggering, playing synth) and processed guitar. I was thinking it would be good to have some sort of PA which i can use in...

yes, that default-to-motu thing would be great for me too. I'm sure a lot of laptoppers are in the same boat... use the 'bigger' hardware and occasionlly just need to quickly fiddle with something. If motu(etc) is connected, then switch to that, otherwise use internal soundcard. same for controllers...

I'm looking into a G5 iMac as well.
You can remove the stand, and it's quite simple from the instructions apple provides.

maybe some sort of short stand?? more like lying it flat? (probably stuffs up the thermal flow)

From my experience, I've found that Live never actually outputs reliable MTC. It just wavers all over the place. I hope Ableton have someone looking at the issue of Syncing..because it will become more and more popular as more people start working together. For that matter, syncing technology is too...
