Re: Damn kids listening to ….electronic music
BUT WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH "ELECTRONIC" MUSIC..........THEY SAMPLED A BUNCH OF SHIT AND USED ANALOG MICS OVER A DRUM BEAT let's see. well, what's currently considered electronic music couldn't exist without hip hop. (if you say that you like hip hop, but not rap again, i'm going to throw up, ...

Re: How to not have latency
Use a higher sample rate if possible. I use 88k because it allows the best latency to CPU ratio for my setup. Just mentioning this because people always talk about buffer size but not sample rate. 128 samples is twice as fast at 88k than 44k obviously.

I thought the interpretation was great. i haven't forgotten, that's why i wrote the words "me," and "i'll." U mad bro? And gue...

Re: sampler experts - vector synthesis/ possible in ableton?
This is probably obvious, but I just want to make sure it's been considered. All you need to do is make an instrument rack with four chains. Each chain has a unique sound. Map a controller that has an x and y plane, a joystick or pad, to the volume of the four chains. You will have to scale them and...

Re: A Question for the Synth-heads
Personally would go modular rather than a number of similar synths. Although the downside there is no polyphony, so either the MS2000 or Virus would be good there, but personally wouldn't bother with owning both. Remember them being quite similar sonically. Polyphony is not out of the question. I u...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta 'soon'...
So if i just put asterisks in i can type whatever i want? So i could be all like, "hey, you're a total sh*t bag and your dad enjoys s**king off dogs" and no one can be offended because hey, who knows, maybe i meant "shirt bag" and "stroking dogs" but didn't put enough stars for letters and accidenta...

Re: Question about Dynamic vs. Condensor Mics
you definitely don't want to use omnidirectional unless you want to get everything in the room. Omnidirectional will pick up from all directions. Hypercardioid is the pattern that is the most directionally focused.

Re: Question about Dynamic vs. Condensor Mics
you might be a bit confused. Condenser mics come in a wide variety of patterns, from super tight hyper cardioid to omni directional. Many even have selectable pickup patterns available for a single mic. They are generally more sensitive than dynamic mics, so are not always the first choice for close...

Re: Why Compress Drums?
If you understand how a compressor works, you can actually use it to increase the dynamic range of a sound if you want to. Learn how and why things work and then make them your own. Forget about what other people tell you to do and use your ears and good judgement. Following "tips and tricks" might ...
