Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

i use a lot of plugins, and i use automation. However, i don't make music that is *based* on the automation of plugins or tempo synced plugins. I usually play most of the automation in with controllers rather than drawing on screen. I haven't run into a crippling problem with the way live works curr...

Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

Complain all you want. I'm simply telling you the truth about how to make music or not. If you want to know if i think you're a twat or not that's more complicated. Some people manage to complain without being twats, some don't. I'm sure you think I'm a twat, that's very clear. But I'm a twat who's ...

Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

It really doesn't matter how you frame it. You have the following options: 1 - Figure out how to use the software the way it is. 2 - Use something else. 3 - Sit around, thumbs up ass waiting for it to be fixed. Believe it or not, some musicians are able to use live to make music just the way it is n...

Re: Bitwig 1.0

Bitwig COULD do anything. I will certainly be trying it as soon as a demo is available. If it's cheap, i might even just buy it for shits n' giggles. If it's actually better than live for what i want to do, i will switch! What i won't do, is cry about how shitty ableton is and pretend that it's brok...

Re: Bitwig 1.0

??? Where did I say that? I'm just pointing out that Bitwig are producing a commercial product, just like Ableton. Well, except for the fact that Bitwig doesn't have a product for sale yet. But when they do, you can be assured that it will cost you money to buy, and that they will spend money to mar...

Re: Bitwig 1.0

After trying Bitwig last year (and un usable for me Live 9 release) it became clear for me- use Live 8 till finally "the real Live" = Bitwig studio will be out. What most critics /fanboyz do not realise, Bitwig is not some gang of copycats, cloning Live but contrary they are people who actually dev...

Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

Actually, you are wrong about the buffer setting. Having a shorter buffer will reduce the problems with automation pdc. Deciding that something is a fault rather than a quirk changes nothing. The tool works the way it does. Figure out how to use it the way it works right now, or use something else.

Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

Understanding limitations and working within them is an essential skill for all artists, and especially those using any kind of technology.

Re: Galt/Steve Ballmer/Jack McCock/d.reamonn - politics ban

Funk, you're right, and i'm "on your side." But you will never convince anyone here of this through any conceivable argument. What you're doing, is exactly what galt/dream/mccock/landcrab/whoever wants you to do. To flail about, making yourself look bad and turning everyone else against you. You wil...

Re: Important: Changes to Community Guidelines

Removing the discussion of politics and religion is a good idea at this point. Unfortunately it won't do much without actual time spent moderating. It might be time for ableton to allow a group of existing forum regulars to moderate the lounge.

Re: I'm awesome.

Coffee tip: For really strong coffee, place double the amount of grounds in a number 2 Melita filter. Make sure your water is filtered and at a rolling boil. Pour the boiling water directly on your genitals.
