Re: File Management Issues That SHouldn't Be Happening

My understanding of the .wav.asd is that the .asd portion is simply where Ableton stores meta info about the original .wav such as BPM and Warp info...I think of it as Live analysis of the .wav. In the .asd file there is no .wav information so if you are deleting the original .wav it is gone, you ne...

I've still got reel to reel tape decks down in the basement. I'm a romantic who finds it difficult to leave old loves.

I like Angstroms approach though. Might have to give that a try. :)

My policy is no dongles. It is kind of hard to stay the course sometimes but philosophically I'm simply opposed to them.

Re: Work Flow - building a Live project from Cubase/Nuendo

I don't believe (though I would love to be corrected) that any DAW has the capacity to import automation data in to itself from some other DAW. The importing DAW would need to have the ability to read the automation in the other DAWs song files and that would require an intimate knowledge of the ori...

Re: Proper way to setup new Imac using two drives??

I run three drives. I'm on a PC so it may not be an apples to apples comparison. C: drive contains all executable files (OS, all DAWs exe and dll, all VST and VSTi exe and dll files). This a an SSD drive D: drive contains all project files for all DAWs (this is not an SSD nor do I need one) Z: drive...

Re: Melodyne 4...

I don’t sing or use vocalists. So sounds like for the most part I don’t need it. Not to highjack the thread, but I’m constantly coming across new music with great vocalists. Is this (A). A sudden explosion of people with vocal talent? (B). They’ve always been out there but the limited scope old mus...

Re: Melodyne 4...

For those using it already, can you tell me for what and how often? I don't use it all the time but I do use it quite often...generally at least on one track of any given song/project. I use it for: * Minor vocal pitch correction * Building vocal harmonies when I am unconcerned about 'artificiality...
