Re: Acoustic piano / studio grand downtown?

My last foray into finding decent piano sounds -- as software -- led me to True Pianos and/or that Pianoteq one. They're both virtual, not samples, and I think really damn good, i.e. you can synth-tweak the hell outta them, even down to the piano strings 8O I think I had the True Pianos one  :D

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta 'soon'...

I agree, the name is God Awful -- alot folks think so too -- the name also adds to the belief that it's all "vaporware" and will never be released or taken seriously. Only time will tell I guess. Maybe they'll change it once they get near a proper release date, or not, who knows. In anychase, there'...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta 'soon'...

Whats the deal with BitWig, how are they able to just rip Ableton? Are these former Ableton people that own this technology or something. This thing looks like what Ableton 9 should be - "Multiple audio events per clip" "Hybrid tracks" etc. This is some advanced stuff for a new player. I guess in t...

Re: Sound difference between Mac and PC?

The audio engine of jpegs sucks, trust me I did an extensive test between jpegs, gifs and pngs.

The only choice for true sonic dynamic range is TIFF!

Too right. I was using the gloss for ages, then I went to a pro producers house who had the matte and I was all like DAAAAAYAAAAMMM!
FWIW the matte screens have been the graphic designers preferences since forever...

Re: Should I sell my Mac Pro, iPad & iPhone for a MBP?

Dude, stick with the Mac Pro. It'll never get outta style and will always be expandable -- the mbp? not so much... In fact I'm think of investing in a new (secondhand) 8core Mac Pro. Right now, my MBP is always running in clamshell mode, I rarely use it remotely, the battery has blown, the keyboard ...
