Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

Also sends, and tracks without using automation. You can hear it for example if you create a paralell chain in a rack, put an fx in one, and then do a crossover sweep to the other. Its clearly phazing because of latency. Just did my inversion test with parallel chains in a rack (3rd party fx on one...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

Ok, I understand that you are talking specifically about automation which is not compensated (as mentioned in the manual). And obviously, this timing problem can be minimized by choosing the audio buffer as small as possible. Also sends, and tracks without using automation. You can hear it for exam...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

@ze2be In Live all 3rd party plugins (including M4L) introduce latency relative to the audio buffer size. But in my experience these latencies are *perfectly* compensated. It can easily be verified with a simple test using two audio tracks with a different number of 3rd party effect plugins and inv...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

In any case muffin it doesnt help to not use sends when the problem is exactly the same on every track.

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

I don't know about that but I think working with consistent settings start to finish is the way to go. And I also think it's best to use the highest sample rate that you can handle. Not for fidelity but for lower latency. 512 samples is obviously faster at a higher rate. Doesn't help that much. At ...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

That doesn't really sound like good practices are being used. Use one buffer size from start to finish, don't use sends on return tracks unless you are creating feedback and be smart about when you apply automation and you won't have any problems. Well, in that case you should use 32 samples all th...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT

Here comes a wall of text, im sorry but its difficult to say this in few words, but if you are concerned about or believe you hear latency creating muddy mixes, this should prove you are right, clear up what actually is happening, and also give you a solution to almost fully eliminate it. Im here t...

Re: 128 Macro idea

Seriously? So if you got lets say a 32 knob controller like BCR2000 etc you can have it all automaped? I gotta try that asap, though I would need a controller with more then 8 knobs. I dont have my BCR here now damit.. Anyway, thanks for the headsup! Ok so you set it to 128 aka -1 in the options sc...

Re: 128 Macro idea

Not to derail but. I want to invent the fader-knob. It is a fader. But instead of just a piece of plastic sticking out, it is a piece of plastic that is turntable as a knob. Or encoder. Then you can do the cutoff and resonance dance with just your finger and thumb. But no. I like the idea of a mass...

Re: 128 Macro idea

You can change the automapped paramters to 128 in the options.txt file. https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/optionstxt-file-live/ "PluginAutoPopulateThreshold" Auto-populates the plugin parameter list if a plugin has a number of less or equal than X parameters Default = 32 Min = 1 Max = 128 "-1" wi...

128 Macro idea

128 Parameters auto assigned. So hey guys, I havent been arround much the last 12 months, mostly hanging on other forums these days. Still using Live though, and still love it. I have been researching for a new keyboard controller today, and yet again even with the fancy new Akai Vi and the new styl...

Re: Hardware Synth Recommendations for Tech House

For noobs I would recomend from all my hart an interface with all controls accessible on the front pannel. Moogs, Arturia Minibrute, etc. On lower budget Novation Bass Station 2 is def very cool and versatile, with 2 lfos and what not. Prob a great first HW synth.

Re: SPL Crimson audio interface - anyone have one?

My Saffire LE seems to be getting flakier as each new OS X comes along, no doubt due to its ancient driver. So i'm looking at this new interface as a replacement. Does anyone have it? Would be great to hear how it performs latency wise with Live... Cheers its getting rave reviews on the gearslutz f...
