Re: using external guitar effects with ableton push

I made this video that explains my process for routing guitar into Live, and also using Push to manipulate and automate FX. Youtube

Re: Writing all device parameters to a clip at once?

ClyphX EnvCap function in conjunction with the MaxPatch was totally what I was looking for.

Thanks again.

Re: Writing all device parameters to a clip at once?

Awesome. Thanks all. I know I could record them all with automation, but when there are 15+ parameters, it's still a bit of a task.... I was also thinking that it would be an interesting way to save device presets for live's instruments.

I'll check out the ClyphX option.

Writing all device parameters to a clip at once?

I'm in the process of creating dummy clips for some interactive visuals using Brainwash HD, and I'm trying to work out an easy way to take a 'snapshot' of all of a selected device's parameters and write it as clip automation data. Currently, I have to tweak to where I want it, then go into the dummy...

Re: Using a Y Cord to record mono L/R outputs as a single input?

in fact, your sound may actually be worse when you use a cable like that, because it is expecting a balanced TRS input, but you're effectively giving it a stereo signal from 2xunbalanced cables.

Re: Using a Y Cord to record mono L/R outputs as a single input?

A 1/4" TRS - 2x TS Y-cable configured the way you suggest is only going to record the left output of your synth. You may as well just use a normal TS - TS. 1"4 (guitar cable)

Re: korg nanokontrol together with push

I do old school midi mapping on my nanokontrol as opposed to attempting running multiple-remote scripts. I map sliders and knobs to parameters I want to control, and also buttons to selected device header bars, so when Push is in device control mode, I can automatically go to that particular device'...

Re: EQ ON/OFF Automation into a FX rack

also... I just downloaded your fx rack.

that's not going to work the way you want it group the eqs as different chains in an FX rack.

Doing it that way is making it run in Parallel... which will duplicate your signal. You want to run them in series... one after the other.

Re: EQ ON/OFF Automation into a FX rack

Try changing the min/max values in the Macro you want to do multiple things:

By default the number for the "Device on" are Min64 Max127

If you change this to Min1 Max0, then as soon as you dial in any of that Macro, the device turns on.

I use this trick all the time to save CPU.

Re: Getting a good mix for Ableton

it's a journey down the rabbit-hole.... This should serve you well on a very long journey ahead: Get good monitoring, so you know what's really happening in your mixes. Reference a whole lot of tracks that you like certain elements of the mix in: ie: good kicks, good stereo width, good space. Refere...

Re: time to scene doesnt work properly

The 'first attempt' you did works as is it meant to.

It will create new clips to the global tempo, so if you want the tempo of the loop to be 110, then change the global tempo to 110.
