Re: Smallest comp to run Live on a pedalboard?

sounds interesting.... but perhaps a little fraught with potential on-stage problems?

it may have been easier (and probably a little more expensive) to get a macbook air and find a way to mount it underneath the pedal board safely?

Re: Having audio effects applied to live tracks

Set the Monitor to In, instead of Auto, and disable (or blend) any internal mixing from your soundcard.

Re: Using Logic's ES2 synth with Ableton during live show

You could perhaps sample the notes and create a Sampler instrument?

Or if you change your audio interface to a Metric Halo interface, their mio console software allows you to connect multiple DAWs to the same soundcard.

I know it's a pain in the arse... but there is also this option for using old power supplies...

Re: Change global BPM without destroying arrangement ?

Highlight everything in the track, and consolidate it into a new clip... do this for every channel... then change the global BPM, and set the new clips warp marker tempos to the 'real' bpm.

Winterpark's Music and Sounds

Hi all, I've been creating free live packs for about a year or so now... just thought i'd share them again. the latest one has two drum racks and two convolution FX racks created from Rock and Metal samples. check it! they have some pretty complex and nerdy routings. http://winterparkmusic.files.wor...

Re: Vocal Comping in Ableton

I really enjoy using Live for vocal edits and recording. The 'comp' recording process is quite a different mindset from those used to ProTools, but it's really flexible for edits I find.

I wrote some of my thoughts on the process I use on my blog a month or so back...

Re: Enormous Buzz with guitar

sounds like an earthing issue in the guitar... single coil pickups? perhaps if it's a strat-style arrangement, put the pickup selector into either position 2 or 4.

and is the push power adapter plugged in? unplugging that may be an easy fix.

Re: Q&A with Dizz1

Hey Dave/Dizz, Caught you a couple of years ago (maybe Live 8 launch in Melb?) talking through your set where you used a trigger finger to do some awesome manual playing/triggering of clips etc... it was pretty inspiring stuff. Not sure if I've got a specific question, but it would be great to hear ...

Re: Copy parts of clip in session view to paste back as new clip

I think you're after the "consolidate time to new scene' function that's new in live 9. You can find it under the Create menu, or by control-clicking on the section you want in arrangement view.

Re: Bad Looper playback bug / glitch

I always find the 'Big' looper multi-function button a little clunky. It can mis-fire or if you accidentally hit it a couple of time quickly, it can do what you have said is happening to you, which is essentially mis-firing the looper to play at the wrong tempo. When it does that 'garbled junk' stuf...
